Which again isn't a great yard stick either. Gvardiol was also part of the defence that shipped six against us lot without Haaland last season. Our defensive record is a lot better than RB Leipzig this time around and we were without Stones, Laporte and Dias for long periods and getting new signing in Akajani to settle.

Just a friendly reminder that you spent two years claiming Haaland wasn't special or even fast, that Cavani and Delap were better options and that he wouldn't succeed in a league with managers like Moyes and Hodgson.

Yeah - I know!

I was engaging in a spot of (admittedly pretty crude) satire with the poster I quoted, who seems to sit on the Gvardiol thread most of the day recycling the same two or three points over and over again.

It felt like the ‘Chelsea decided not to buy him last summer’ comment - which apparently should be taken as conclusive evidence that no other Club should even consider buying him this summer - was probably up next!

With the Haaland one read up on the Malcolm Allison quote when scouting Colin Bell. And the Haaland one was more convincing signing than Gvardiol. Haaland still took time to really settle.

Malcomn Allison was saying it to other scouts and coaches to try and get a clear run, not sure you can use that excuse.

haaland has scored 42 goals in 30 odd matches, if anything hes slowed up since the world cup, you're talking nonsense to justify the nonsense you're talking,

as for gvardiol , you cant blame one player for a 6-0 defeat, his team were completely open ,baresi himself wouldnt of stopped us scoring 6 that night

Still in terms of being fully bedded in the team it took time regardless of individual stats. Gvardiol still looked very shaky in the two defeats

It did put them off and he was joking about it. We are talking the best part of £90m for a player who has shipped in 13 goals in two seasons against us. We paid half that for Nathan Ake who looked more accomplished despite playing for a relegation threatend team.

your argument looks shaky we drew one, you can't base your opinion on a player playing against city, we were brilliant that night, we really were on top of our game , and their set up did not help any of their players.first game he looked good .

i don't claim to have seen loads of him, but from his performances at the world cup i think he would be a great fit for what pep wants from the false lb ie a cb who has pace,ball skills and is a very good defender

He was lucky for his goal not to be disallowed when he jumped on the back of Dias. I do expect a little more than what he had shown in those two game against us alone for the money he is apparently going for if he did move in the summer.

I couldn’t care less on the cost thats for the club to decide, if the club think he’s the right player for the team, then I’m fine with it because more often than not they are proved right.

forgot we played them last season, just found his game highlights, quick aggressive,strong and very good passer of the ball, ill try and find the 6-0 for balance

I respectfully disagree with you on this one I don't think we are going to overpay on this one and it seems they have learned from the mistakes they had made with Mangala.
