Socialism does not do that, it defends the state first and foremost. Peace rather than war is the best way to avoid death.

I want strong armed forces, that ensures our nations safety. I do not want billions wasted on nuclear vanity projects, I want armed forces worthy of our reputation, not an army that could fit inside Wembley stadium

Labour under Kinnock were polling higher in 1990 post poll tax with similar levels of discontent... . All sorts of plays you can draw on.
But when you see this level of cringe maybe historical precedents go out of the window

That was in the dog days of the Thatcher years. Replacing Thatcher, and Major dumping the poll tax took the impetus out of Labour‘s lead. It was the swan song of that Tory Govt though. People had had enough by ‘97, just as people have had enough now, and the Tories can’t replace their leader this time around. The PM merry go round is one of the reasons people have had enough.

Labour will not win by, or even maintain a 20 point lead, but they are set to form the next Govt.

Pretty obvious who supports the Labour party now.
 
End of the day the Center vote wins the next election easily. Those stuck in a dinosaur era of hard far left politics will get left behind as will today’s government failed far right abomination .
