People have loved ones who have given their lives for their country, the anthem means a lot to many different people.

Again, and I don't mean this to be deliberately flippant or disrespectful to you yourself @cheekybids , the anthem also holds a lot of resentment to many people who have felt oppressed or otherwise. We hold an annual minutes silence to those who've given their lives to the country every November. This wasn't about that and the booing at Anfield wasn't about disrespecting that.

We need to draw the line and it comes at being bewildered when residents of other countries (North Korea) are regularly seen on video demonstrating their unanimous support for their supreme leader to us being expected to do the same here.

Not really arsed that they booed the anthem. Irks me a bit that Sky were too scared to even mention it though.
why.....anthems shouldn't be anywhere near domestic football = no problems then. i also think like Billy Connolly our anthem is sh*t such as dirge

I agree it does for many but all they had to do was show a bit of respect like they demand from others. It’s a new thing, they don’t know why & as usual you hear how Liverpool was treated or Hillsborough, both are nonsense.
The anthem is more than just a song about the king which is why every nation on the planet has theirs. They are played to signify celebration & loss.

They might also remember whilst the media condemned their fans, Charles & his wife were visiting hospitals in Sheffield.

You don’t, you live in a monarchy. You are a subject. I can’t fathom how people can’t understand that’s the terms of living in England. It’s not a democracy it’s a monarchy.

Anyways, after today certain players should never be selected for England again and Henderson comes out of it looking decent unlike the rest of their stadium. Typical of them really.
Tony Cascarino famously didn't even know the Irish tune let alonw words... ..yet played his heart out for the team

Awww bless, maybe there's not a lot of difference between blue and red dippers.

Scouse not English ehh?
Oh trust me, plenty of Everton fans are republicans as well. I am.

We boo everything though.

ETA: I posted on my Tumblr, tagged as ‘Everton’, to ask how Everton fans felt about the Scouse Not English thing and I had Liverpool fans in my replies. It’s not about you and I’m not asking you. I KNOW why you all hate the king. I KNOW. It’s my own people I’m talking to and also, you’re not Irish, you’re English. Deal. Loads of Mancs are of Irish descent and they don’t act like they’re Irish.

Not in Florida, where it was alleged to have happened. Anyway, this is for a different thread as posted earlier.

Lol I didn’t know that, I thought it was London. His accuser lives just up the road from me in WA, I won’t ask ;)

I have some bollocks in my time but that takes the biscuit. Maybe he should ask Steve slippy Gerrard, a person revered in miseryside why he accepted an MBE. Why don’t Neverton boo it if it’s a scouse thing.
One of the kopites replying to my post said they didn’t approve of Gerrard accepting an MBE or playing for England. I don’t know his politics but why wouldn’t he play for England? Does he do the Scouse Not English thing?

Are fans ok to boo Hillsborough and Munich events now as well the because they don’t agree with them?

Or should those not in favour show a bit of self respect, keep quiet
and allow those who do want to join in the opportunity without it being spoilt?

It’s our National Anthem.
Seems odd to keep quiet even if something seems wrong.
Cancel culture.

Feral scum, vermin, disgusting cunts, murderers, victims, rats

A little collection of terms there, from the people demanding respect for the king's hatting ceremony!

Seriously, the language used in here is pretty abhorrent. It's embarrassing to see grown adults come out with it

Surprised it's just left unchecked as well

Agreed, its unfair on rats to make the comparison.

Besides,its not their fault.

I fucking hate Liverpool.

I hate their fans. I hate their manager, I hate their players, I hate their upper management, I hate their sponsors, I hate their lot, I hate their stadium, I hate their murders, I hate their arrogance, I hate their protected victim status, I hate that literally no one with a platform can call them out for fear of retaliation, I hate klopps teeth, I hate their team bus, I hate their ex players, I hate their stupid badge, I hate their motto, I hate their jungle, I hate their merchandise, I hate Van Dick, I hate the way they got away with that transfer Saga, I hate the name “Kop” I hate that they call themselves “kopites” I hate the fact they have fans, I hate that every team has to be subject to you never walk alone. I hate every blade of grass on the field, I hate Every seat in that stadium, I hate the color red, I hate when they get a win(l, I hate it when they get a draw, I hate it that they haven’t gone insolvent and sold for scrap and the wreckage danced upon, I hated them before the booing, I hate them after the booing

God I fucking hate Liverpool.

That’s my new national anthem.
What about the Tea Lady and the Hot Dog seller, do you hate them too ?
