I just think Pep and the team rate him very highly, as they should, and he will be an integral part of our team, even more so than this season.
I agree mate. It's just that your thinking is no guarantee. Only Pep can guarantee if a player plays or not. And he gives no guarantee to any player being an automatic starter. Sorry if I'm coming across as being a bit arsey; )

Haha, I understand, and you are right. Even Erling can end up on the bench, however unlikely that is. Everyone needs to work hard for their place on the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD.

Pep has always stated he will never stand in a players way if they are unhappy and/or want to move on.

Not for one minute do i expect Alvarez to leave so soon, but he will be free to make that choice if Bayerns interest is genuine.

Out of curiosity.....What do people value him at? 80m?

I know Haaland has scored 50 goals this season, but I think Alvarez is the better finisher out of the two. Haalands physique and power gets him in the better positions, but one on one I’m picking Alvarez.
He has a better shot from outside the box and strikes the ball with more power than Haaland, however, his first touch is the worst on the team.

It's not bad at all, it's just that the other players are much better at it. Every player in the squad has his weaknesses and strengths.

Scored 6 goals in a game one year ago ...

Some proper ‘Aguero’ finishes in there. A lot will depend on his game time, but I imagine he’ll get 20-25 goals across all comps next season.

Bet the lads knackered, he’s not had any down time for over 2 years.

2023 hasn’t been too shabby for him though.

It is weird because Julian will have these awful touches in easy, non-threatining, situations, but when it's time to control a ball to create a chance he will have some sublime first touches that not many other strikers in the World can pull off (just see his goal against Poland in the WC as an example).

It think it's a matter of concentration with him, when he thinks it's easy, he will lose a bit of focus and give away an easy ball, but when he smells blood, he puts all his senses into it and comes up with some world class controls to set himself up perfectly.

Also, I think his non-stop running plays against him sometimes too. He spends so much energy without the ball, that sometimes he's out of breath when he has it.
