Champions League Final | Who’s NOT going to Istanbul?

Going to have a couple of cans and watch on the box. If we win then it’s straight down to the ground!

I’m not for various reasons , seperated 3 years ago , and have my 10 year old alternative weekends , had to give up the season ticket as spending time with my son is my priority , he’s City mad now , so back on the ST’s when we extend the stadium , my eldest is going , secured his ticket today , I miss it big time , done Wembley finals since the Stoke win , I’ll be back, I’d take the CL all day that’s the big one for me , nervous already for the CL final , it’s weird , this weekend feels like an anti climax to me , of course I want to beat them , but I don’t want that feeling again when Chelsea beat us in the big one , but you can feel the narrative already -city failed to win the treble.

I’m going but realised this evening that I’ve yet to see City win away in Europe (in six attempts) - so now considering I’m the jinx

Glad this thread is here.

Qualified yesterday. Not going. Too hypocritical to boo the uefa song then stump up €400 to them for a ticket.

Shit stadium Miles from town, with a running track in a country awaiting a response to the election which is a significant risk imo. An event ending gone midnight and a very unlikely bus shuttle through hours of notoriously bad traffic.

So all in all, too much palava. Gone are the days where I'd walk over coals to see City in spite of everything.

Shit stadium Miles from town, with a running track in a country - agreed

awaiting a response to the election which is a significant risk imo - nothing happened, nor will it

An event ending gone midnight - past your curfew ? This is perfect for everyone in Manchester, it’ll end while pubs are still open

Very unlikely bus shuttle through hours of notoriously bad traffic - No chance the after match transfers will be ‘unlikely’, especially when, as you say, stadium is miles away from town, and traffic will only be match traffic after midnight, split in two with half leaving immediately, the other half an hour later.

I love how this forum brings together people who form completely opposite opinions of the same issue.

I've decided to sack it off. Not paying for 3 tickets at the prices UEFA want, to watch a game of football, in addition to all the other costs.

I hope everyone going has a great trip. I've just decided in my case, to use my head over my heart on this occasion and use the money elsewhere. Still a bit gutted not to be going though.

Anywhere but Istanbul. Getting there without going for more than a couple of days was an expensive faff, I couldn't commit to travel until I knew I could get a ticket, and when I became eligible all I could get was a 390 euro ticket in an obstructed view area (why does a champions league final venue have obstructed view seats??) or a 480 euro ticket in a non obstructed area, which financially was a non starter. And the travel, digs and tickets would have to be times two so my son could come.
Rant over, to those who are going have an excellent time, let's hope we bring it home.

I'm going to be watching it with quite a few blues in a remote church in Norwich on a stag do. Wish me luck.

ill be in the Adelaid casino with the supporters club, a few from here are going and i believe 27 form sydney, prob similar from Melb and handful from Perth.

Yeah, I’ve just moved here from Urmston and have no idea where I could watch with like minded souls.
I watched the final a couple of years ago in The Crown near the bus station. Pretty much everyone in there was supporting City apart from one big mouthed Chelsea fan who was "invited" to leave at half time. Struggled to book anywhere last time but that was down to COVID regs. The Plumbers might the best bet as it's a decent size and has loads of screens. Like I say Warehouse is huge but I've found it has been full of Student rags cheering on whoever City are playing.
Pubs to avoid for general drinking
The Olde Hatte
Hart Bar
The Black Boy (yes really!)
The Junction
Decent bars
The Rat and Rachet
The Star
The Grove
The Sportsman
The Shoulder of Mutton
Williams in town is nice but pricey

I'm not going, however if we win you can bet I'll go in on my day off to meet the plane back, I'll stop the person with the trophy and say, sorry mate against health and safety, I'll need to carry that trophy down the stairs :) imagine front page spread sir peace frog lifting the trophy at the top of the stairs :)
