TBH I thought it portrayed a form of elitism which I hate. An inference that anyone who reads the Mail is a sheep and totally thick, without the intelligence to think for themselves.
I know people who read the Mail along with other news outlets and they're not like that at all.

That's not what was said on here is it, sheep are people who read certain media by all accounts. Well certain people who have been deemed unfit to read it and understand it.

Back to the proceedings - its hard to imagine that someone of the authority of Jane Kerr at MGN authorised 900 plus payments to private investigators and freelancers without questioning what they had done in legal terms given that some were known phone hackers and she knew that. Her stuttering inability to complete some answers to some questions today felt to me like someone who was realising she had hitched her pony to someone else's wagon and signed off payments at their request and realising that someone who asked them to do it was hanging her out to dry - she was spent coming out of the court building as she realised if things go badly she will be on the hook

I did see a thing on line - so questionable I know - that the NotW was folded so quickly by Murdoch because of Professional Indemnity Insurance. When we are told MGN and the rest have paid out 100's of millions they haven't its their PI insurers who have paid out which will lead to problems for media going forwards.

I had a mate I suspected was informed my 'Mailesque' views and told me unequivocally that he never read the Daily Mail.
Then we once screen shared our computers remotely....and there was the Mail online browser tab hidden in plain sight...
