All this talk of walker leaving has pissed me off a bit. Really do not want him leaving

He's far from finished here
I'd hope to keep him but as a Plan B player, i.e. when we are up against a fast winger. Otherwise it's 3 CBs as per our Plan A.

If we play 57-8 games next season, that's 115 games

,I've had a long hot day, been up since 3am, it might be me but I haven't got a fucking clue what that means

It's easy to understand :)

If we have 60 games and 3 players for two positions, each of the players can start 40 games.

Also, given that Stones is going to rotate with Akanji and Dias at CB, Rice could start 40 games even if Rodri and Stones start each more than 40 games. That is, many minutes/starts will be available for Rice if we sign him.

If its a bidding war it doesnt really sound like City.. I guess they hope the allure of Kalvin in the deal will persuade them to prefer City. I hope Kalvin knows though..

You could just do what I said, which is express your personal reservations about the player while conceding that Guardiola knows what he's doing and the club is in safe hands so there's no reason to break out the chicken little impression.
I can trust Txiki/Pep and still be against a potential signing of a player I think is mediocre, since I will not blindly agree with everything they think/do/say. That obviously doesnt mean I think Txiki/Pep are idiots that dont know what they are doing, I think they are the best in the business. But if we are being linked with a player I think would be a terrible signing for us (at least considering the fee), based on what I have seen with my own eyes 50+ games, I will obviously say what I think on a forum discussing transfers. That doesnt mean I think I know better than anyone else, especially not Txiki/Pep, its just my opinion.

Worlds apart in terms of quality.
Nah, not worlds apart. Maybe streets apart. They are in the same world, same neighborhood and the same P.O BOX, just that Philips has been riddled with injuries. So those injuries make the same streets apart. If it weren't for the injuries, I would say: They are in the same street!

Gvardiol, Kovacic, Rice... All absolute units. Pep is certainly looking into developing a more physical team.

Big Sam did a podcast with Natalie Pike last week, think Sherwood was the other guest.

Pike asks who will Declan Rice play for next season, Sherwood says Arsenal, Big Sam then out of nowhere says Man City. He always has his ear on the ground for these things. Has lots of contacts in the game.

Could be something in this…

He is still big mates with Sullivan at West Ham.

Phillips had 50 Premier League games under his belt compared to 200plus from Declan Rice. Was not convinced by Phillips at Leeds or for England and was bought as cover. Rice looks a few levels above and would challenge for a regular slot I believe. Yes he would have to improve but at 24 think his positioning and game awareness would be raised a few levels under Pep.
