I’d look at Rice with Phillips going the other way. Who knows what Pep could do with him.
Player swap deals are extremely rare these days. I doubt we’re forcing Phillips out and he seems happy to stay. If he were on the market, he’s a northern lad and would be much more likely to go to Newcastle assuming they were interested, (all in my opinion). On the rare occasions players move between clubs they are only to keen to stress deals are unrelated and remain completely separate.

Arsenal bidding £75m is taking the piss out of West Ham
It’s no wonder they couldn’t get caicedo or mudryk in January
And no wonder Lisandro Martinez and rafinha
If they don’t start putting proper bids in someone will bid higher

It's only a piss take if there are other bidders, at this time the Arse seem to be the only one.

Look, I don't want to be the one applauding Arsenal, their fans alone are enough to hate them, but I am a fan of bidding based on your own evaluation.

75 million seems fair to me.

1) He is a DM.
2) The best one around, Rodri, didn't cost 75 million.
3) Everyone and their mothers know Rice is ready for a move and WH won't stand in his way.

So in light of all that, don't see why Arsenal shouldn't start as low as possible.

I'm not sure the City pseudo interest is enough to scare Arsenal. I'm sure they know if City was interested, City would have made a move. So long as we don't, I don't see why Arsenal should rush.
