Waiting for someone to say "this one's on Pep".
Could do with Cummins stepping on a ball2005
And how often, which is what my musings were about?2005
Two decisions have cost us I fear. Declaration too early and one over too many for Root. In hindsight of course
It's the Aussie wayDoes he fancy winning it with a 6…

This is exactly how I see it we've come a long way since the last ashes , im disappointed we didn't get over the line , but so pleased at how hard we have pushed them , and I'm struggling to remember a test match that has kept me captivated quite as much as this one hasNothing to do with the declaration. It's simply down to not taking our chances. Bairstow's dropped catches have cost us. But what a test and it sets the series up nicely. We went into this thinking bazball might have ineffective against what is the best test team in the world but we have rattled them and probably should have won.
Like in 2005 we need to keep those principles and stay strong mentally. My only concern is that it's at Lords and that's a test I usually write off. Every foreign player wants their name on the honours board there and it's not intimidating in the slightest. Shame we have to play there. Trent Bridge would be better!
I don't know who on their committee have pissed off the ECB. Trent Bridge is fantastic when the place is rocking.Nothing to do with the declaration. It's simply down to not taking our chances. I don’t know, but the declaration was a gamble to get the Aussies in late in the day; but didn’t come off and sacrificed maybe 25/30 runs. Agree with the missed chances, plus so many extras.Nothing to do with the declaration. It's simply down to not taking our chances. Bairstow's dropped catches have cost us. You cant do much about missed chances, and the injury to Ali.I don’t know, but the declaration was a gamble to get the Aussies in late in the day; but didn’t come off and sacrificed maybe 25/30 runs. Agree with the missed chances, plus so many extras.
You can't say that we could have lost wickets in the next 2 balls . We could have taken 2 wickets in the time left that dayI don’t know, but the declaration was a gamble to get the Aussies in late in the day; but didn’t come off and sacrificed maybe 25/30 runs. I guess we'll find out as the summer progresses.Doesn't matter how often. It happened in 2005. They know it. We know it.
This is true. You can't say that we could have lost wickets in the next 2 balls . We could have taken 2 wickets in the time left that day
