4 Cbs, 4 cdms.. Pep going for Chelsea's least goals conceded in a season record(15) next season...
Gvardiol should come in for Foden…

We do have Carson you know

Whatever the deal is, if we are in for him, pep has a plan…..imo possibly turn him into a very decent box to box player.

i genuinely think Pep will see if to be able to push on further forward and wouldnt be surprised if we saw him getting a few goals? Like @tolmie's hairdoo said a month or two ago, Rice was the alternative option to Bellingham and hopefully this can be done quickly!

I think if Rice were not English we would be looking at £60m tops.
City seem to want a core of English players and is probably why we went for Grealish at that price.
Sterling left and potentially Kyle could go either this Summer or next. Doubts about Phillips making it.
So we need to rebuild that English foundation.
Other than Bellingham and Saka who have committed elsewhere, there are not many options left. Reece James maybe but very injury prone
Just on the Reece James issue, Chelsea’s medical team hasn’t been right since Mourinho got rid of whatsername ? They seemed to of had umpteen injuries of a similar nature and the whole set up looks like it needs a complete reset (maybe it’s underway?) Now compare that to ours where Pep & Khaldoon have hailed the outstanding work of our medical team and citied it as a major factor in our success (see Haaland as an example) listening to them both it’s like they’re saying to players out there, ‘come to City, our model is the peak of football’ and they’re not wrong

It won't take weeks. I spoke directly yesterday to people involved.

We haven't made this move without a firm indication Rice would first choose us.

There is no advantage to be gained being publicly snubbed in favour of a team that hasn't won a league title for two decades and never been Champions of Europe.

Added to the fact, it makes a rod for City's back then trying to sign an alternative and being quoted ridiculous figures by other clubs.

City don't reveal their hand, albeit Sullivan isn't exactly helping by briefing off the record how strong our interest is.

Hi Tomlie, just to clarify, is your info that he would choose City over Arsenal even if both clubs were to get bids accepted, (not that I think we'll get to the stage of getting a bid accepted)?

And these players are the foundations upon which other players can deliver.
100% but with Rice I do think there is a very talented player in there and a far better player than we have seen so far, he has the stamina to be a box to box player , very decent in the air and a goal threat although again so far that not been seen but under Pep I personally think he will thrive in terms of goals.

Anyone see that video of rice when he approaches that young fan and gives him a hug?

He’s definitely got what it takes on the field but also seems the type of lad to fit in to this group of players.
Watch the overlap feature with Neville, he's a very decent and humble man, Rice that is ;)

Are we in for rice to put one over Arsenal. Apparently we pull out of deal to gets rivals to overspend and impact their window buying power.

This city fan influencer came on the TalkSport this evening and started spotting this and how we are not really in for Rice but upping the price for arsenal saying it gamership?

Does anyone ACTUALLY believe this?

Can't argue with anything he said there to be honest

Agreed.

An apology from me to the Big fella Sam, he clearly had knowledge this deal was on some time ago and I doubted him

Maybe Pep has him lined up to be his new No2, he would be ideal to tap into and take Pep and us to the next level ;)

I like that a lot since they have longevity factor but if they are from Brazil or hot weather country they will be looking to leave for example. Players from similarity weather in Europe like Belgium
, Sweden etc makes sense Spain too but other factors to consider as well.
