Nicoló Barella

Well I hope that source is wrong. I'm a big fan of the bloke.
Generally speaking, foreasmuch as this summer there won't be a World Cup or an Euro Cup, I think journalists have transfert market as their necessary source of income. But, differently from some decades ago, when given news, coming from the chosen ones, were often true, nowadays there is a crowd of assumed specialists in this branch who like to report news without grounds or some others who change their idea just the day after uncontrollably.

I don't know if in England there's an identical situation, but here in Italy this way of acting professionally it's, pity for us, a flourishing kind of "journalism", almost only gossip for selling newspapers or catching audience on TV or increasing followers on the internet.

In Italy, one of the fews journalists who often focus himself on the transfert market and can be considered "reliable", but with reservations, Di Marzio, said that this news has no grounds.

Personally, I think this kind of talking around Inter players is normal after this Champions League path, after all there was international visibility for them. And I bet there will be real offers in the next future.

Jealous if they pull this one off. Perfect Gundo replacement, but hopefully our captain is staying on for another year or 2
I think he would be a very good replacement for Bernardo actually, the industry and ability to play in the middle and double up on a right side usually.
I am not sure Gundo, with his ability on the ball, vision and natural sense for playing in and around the box, has replacement in the world of football right now.
Barella for Bernardo, Foden for Gundo and Palmer as auxiliary for Grealish/Mahrez would be a perfect way forward for us, but probably it is going to end up going in totally different direction.

If we were going for any Italian player, I’d much rather take a punt on Empoli’s Tomasso Baldanzi, though we’ve probably frustrated Internazionale enough this summer. They’ll likely fight it out with their neighbours for his signature.
Game still needs lots of development. But like Brahim Diaz. A better dribbler, sure. But has a lot of the same weaknesses Brahim showed when he was here.

Absolutely. However, unlike Brahim, I think that once he fills out a little he'll drop a bit deeper and be rather similar to Bernardo. He's a touch smaller so can turn easily and has that similar Energizer Bunny engine. Looking forward to seeing him progress.

The only signing I would really be excited about. Totally different player to Bernardo and still could easily do exactly the same thing for us. And he has a thunderbastard of a shot. Somebody should get in touch with Edin to ask to get a few pointers on him. I've read somewhere he is not very comfortable leaving Italy.

At the same time I'm hearing Liverpool are making inquiries...he's won the league, multiple domestic cups, the European title with Italy and been to a CL final. All as a key man in every instance. He's one with a winner's mentality to go along with his ability and work rate. We take a chance on Chiesa and bring them in as a pair for 80 + 40 or 85 + 35 mil. Gets us 2 mid twenties world class talents. Take our time in getting Chiesa back to top form and provide Barella with a compatriot to help him acclimate to the UK. JMO

That would be a lethal pair. As soon as Chiesa gets back to his best, being paired with Barella in this Pep team, sheeesh. Thats scary!

I'd offer inter a bernardo - barella swap. Think they'd accept it, their valuations match, bernardo gets a new challenge in a luxurious city and both teams get a replacement

Not a bad idea. If Bernardo is intent on leaving we could do much worse than Barella...

I am not sure about Chiesa, because we already have Julian, but Barella would be so good in case Bernardo leaves. The same energy and terrier-like approach to playing it both attacking and defending. He ain't Bernardo when it comes to skills on the ball, but what I saw him playing he is better in the MF and moving forward with the ball. Allegedly, Inter would let him go for €80 mil, but not so many Italians decide to leave Italy these days. But everything I read about him, he is not keen on moving out of Italy.

I mentioned Chiesa if Mahrez were to go...
