Interesting, that a member who acts like a dick and gets called out for it has his post removed but also the post showing his awful behaviour is removed as well with no explanation.

I agree. We should all try and be civil to one another but erasing everything with zero explanation, in my opinion, isn't necessarily helpful.

That said, thank you moderators.

The Arsenal guyz will be all over this forum tomorrow if it's accepted. And what harm. Let them enjoy their season highlight. Only fair.
Spurs have 'we beat City cup'. They will certainly win it again. At least, Arteta has 'we took Rice from the clutches of those evil doers Cup'. He won't have 'we beat City cup', sadly.

Just a guess but, going off past experience, City will not bid again. It doesn’t seem to be in our DNA. We bid what we think is a fair price and if it’s rejected that’s the end. The player has to really want us. It’s served us well so far and I think the same will happen again.

It will be like Cucurella.

City will look elsewhere and Arsenal pay £20 million over the odds but are happy to do so to get their main target.

West Ham forum seem happy with the fee but not the destination and think City will not bid again. A few hope we match Arsenal’s bid but with better payment terms.

I don’t know if I hope I’m wrong. I would love to get a player Pep really wants but that price seems too much and we might just keep Phillips and hope he improves.

We will buy someone out of the blue now.

Roll on tomorrow

Cant see us matching that bid, he's adds depth but doesn't take the team to a new level.

90 million + Phillips or walk away

Great post for me; sums up what I think I think about this.
I like the idea we are a club where our bid is our bid.

Don't think Alvarez will start much unless his first touch improves a whole lot. Looks like everything is going to be compressed and we are looking at players who can play in the tightest of spaces. Alvarez's first touch is among the worst in the team and his short passing is also not great.

That's why we are going for powerful players who can receive the ball in a tight space and hold off or push past the defender (like everyone used to run through Rodri in his first year). If that first burst is successful then I expect it'll go up to Haaland quicker than this year otherwise it'll get the usual Pep recycle across the front with Rice or Rodri doing what Stones was doing this year with Rice ready to race back into defence should we lose the ball (picture Grealish against Salah).

That's why I'm also not expecting a fast pacy winger. They'd almost be a waste. Pep 4.0 is going to be unbelievably solid with a lot of vertical runners coming backwards on transition (I think Jose Chelsea has the least goals conceded in a season and I expect we will be challenging that). All these ball players at the back are there for how compressed it's going to be - they'll need to be the playmakers almost when everything is in the opposition third.

Then I expect lots of intricacy around the penalty area to find quick darting runs into the box to either create a shooting opportunity or a pull back to the edge of the box for a Rodri pass into the box. We used to be masters of the tap in but I'm expecting the Rodri goal against Inter to be the typical city goal next year. That or a Haaland madness.

The wingers and dribblers will be used to push the defensive line back rather than break it. Then they'll either try and find something short for Haaland's quick movement and power or pull it back into the space on the edge of the box.

That's what I think anyway

Im not confident. I would have loved Tonali or Mac Allister though.. very versatile and could have played in many positions. Not many around of those though.
Gundo could play as a 6, 8 and 10, player that can cover at least 2 of those positions would be beneficial.

If people want to do their own research I can assure you the midfield market is not short on options and we will be absolutely fine without Rice.
I'm too lazy to do my own research so I can perfectly understand if Txiki is too and would just prefer to dish out 110m, take a few photos and put the feet back up. It's a hard life.

Barella
Wirtz
Bennacer
Szoboszlai
Majer
Zubimendi
Viega
Enzo Le Fee
Caqueret

An assortment of midfielders I’d like, different types and most would be risks.

Wirtz is the one. They want around 100m for him, and I’d be all for it. Exceptional talent and a future KDB replacement
