I’m not ignoring anything. I’m not forgetting anything. I’m not eager to replace Pep. Clearly there’s a difference between what I wrote and what you understood. Tony Book was the manager when I first started watching City. Pep is clearly the most successful manager we’ve ever had and in my opinion he’s the best in the world. He won’t stay forever though and City will continue. My point was that no club that I can see (certainly in the country) has managed change very well after a long term manager. Possible exception being the Liverpool boot room. The point you're ignoring is the rags appointed someone without any winning history what so ever..
And in your eagerness to replace Pep with more winning.. you forgot.. No one will be the same as Pep.. no one.
He's the only one in the whole world who can fix the plane while flying the plane. And come up with a completely different system after the opposition adjusts.
Look at Klopp.. its the same system from 2014.. worked good some seasons.. doesn't now.
Look at Arteta.. it's the same system from Pep's 2018-19.
You need an innovator..
I also think 80 to 100 million for Gvardiol is going to look a bargain in a few years time.
We were prepared to spend 100m plus on kane alone...and then spent 55m on haaland...do I agree we have the spare cash even from thatFootball fees are mental now anyway? I do think though that the club had wheels in motion 18 months ago and were preparing for a big spend
55m fee but let's not kid ourselves there were huge commissions that had to be paidWe were prepared to spend 100m plus on kane alone...and then spent 55m on haaland...do I agree we have the spare cash even from that
