Listened to his podcast and basically he’s waffling. "Dunno" being the crème de la crème of his pointless word salad.
 
Bernardo was always the perfect alternative. Maybe he will be a little more settled if he is a more integral part of what is going on. I feel as though he prefers playing inside rather than on the wing, but don't really have anything to back that up other than watching how effective is when he plays.
 
Didn't Tolmie say there was going to be around 4 new faces this window? More inclined to believe him that Sam Lee.

Could work fine, although I think that Foden may play centrally a lot this season. KDB injured and Foden was very good in the middle when he got the chance last year. So good that we didn’t really miss KDB when he went off in the champions league final. If his delivery could just improve a little (it’s not bad, just not Kev standard) we would be set.
 
Why is so hard for the people with "Shiny New Toy Unboxing Syndrome" to figure out..

After the top options off our list are crossed off.. maybe we rate our internal options better?

It's a bit like we didn't have to buy Danny Ings, just because we didn't get Harry Kane.
 
I would really like to see us pick up a young KDB understudy. Someone that is attacking minded and willing to take some risks, but is more of a clinical pass maker than a Foden style rocket. Maybe McAtee is that? I haven't seen him play enough to have an opinion about him.

His name is "El Arana Julian Alvarez"

Infact I'd say that's Pep's next project.. Get Julian and Erling playing together so we can keep hold of both.

And if you remember.. the games KDB was rested.. who played the KDB role.. it was always Julian. But don't judge him now.. judge him after 3 years of Pep working his magic on him.

Pretty sure he said that it depends on players going out (he mentioned 3 of 4 potential leavers having decisions to make). So, both could be right.

I could be wrong but I think Foden will get his chance in midfield in the first couple of months of the season whilst KDB is out. Where he plays once Kev comes back I guess will depend on how he has performed in that period.

Providing Mahrez stays, I think we'll start the season with a midfield three of Rodri, Bernardo and Foden which has a nice balance. Kovacic will get plenty of chances too if Bernie or Phil need to fill in on the wing.

stories are medical team hope kev will be back for the 2nd game, he wont be out months.

There seems to be an implication from Sam Lee that if he leaves he’ll be replaced internally with Foden, McAtee etc. To me that seems insane, losing a huge amount of goals, assists and our only real right winger without a replacement seems to be courting trouble. Mahrez was our match winner against Chelsea (3 times), Spurs and the FA Cup semi. He had 15 goals and assists in the league last season despite only 23 starts. That’s not easily replaced and extremely unlikely McAtee and Bobb between them hit those numbers.

We don’t seem to be linked with anyone apart from Gvardiol though which is surprising.

Of course we have no idea what City are doing, we could have no plan to replace Mahrez or a list of targets contingent on him leaving. Hopefully the latte.

Mbappe joins Real Madrid. Vinicius junior isn’t going to play second fiddle. Real would need to raise money for the signing. Alvarez/Foden/McAtee can play right wing. Problem solved. Get the cheque book out.
