it was great batting conditions though if they get going and all that but hindsight is great
Not hindsight I said that on Thursday night, I actually thought they may even declare when they got level and make it a one day shoot out on Friday. England need a win or they have lost. Aussies only need a draw.

Well, whatever they did it was always going to be in the hands of the weather. They couldn’t declare when level and chuck away the advantage. Was better trying to get the runs in the first innings when they had something of a free hit. The Aussies were never gonna get involved in making a game of it. So we’d have had to either chase over 200 between the rain or try and bowl them out. Only needing 6 more wickets is as good as we could have hoped for in my opinion.

No worries, I am thinking of that daft first test declaration that cost England the first game, this seemed the polar opposite. Like you said there was no perfect scenario but I firmly believe batting to 600 when the forecast was so dire for the weekend was dumb.
