I could also see Cancelo starting RW over Palmer, with Foden and Bernie in midfield.
Thats when they played together on the left side with Cancelo LB.It didn't quite work with both Grealish and Cancelo in the team first time around.
If Cancelo plays winger then they dont get in each others way.

No Thanks. Foden and Palmer deserve to play RW MUCH better.Cancelo should be played RW in place of Mahrez
Pep tried him on that spot. Cancelo could not even go past Cucurella. Bernado and Mahrez played Cucurella like a toy. If Cancelo wants to play a winger, I would suggest Benfica B team.

Cancelo gave up him place himself when he ran away to Munich half a year ago.He's not taking anyones place, just retaining his own.
