Just saying we are having a good window on the selling side don’t think we have a problem with incoming yet. Confident we will be much happier with the window once it’s over

How many bad windows have we had ? And how many have looked worse at the start because we sell before we buy ?
Forty quid aint that great :)

I thought this would be a huge transfer window for us with say 4 out and 4 in…it still might be with a month left I suppose.

Looking at the ages of our players our squad is a little on the old side. Ideally you want a couple of players at every age between say 19 and 31 excluding keepers.

Its noticeable that we have nobody at all aged 24 or 25.

Of course that could all quickly change.

Who would you bring in that's going to sit on the bench and have that kind of quality? A decent right wing signing is going to put Foden on the bench if everyone is fit simply because he's the easiest to drop.

If everyone is fit and assuming KdB and Haaland are going to start then you'll have Alvarez and one of Foden, Silva or Grealish on the bench plus the kids.

I'm also going all in on Lewis and I would expect him to start drifting further forwards during his City career mainly because his height causes less of an issue. I think Lewis can do a lot of what Gundagon did (we will have to wait and see if he can replicate the weighty goals). For me he can come of the bench and play full back or most midfield positions. So I'd consider him potentially a sub we could make it things aren't going well - he is already superb at picking up little pockets of space, he's a tenacious and direct dribbler and he can play a tidy short pass to keep the ball moving

If the players attitudes are right then we have enough quality in our big guns to maintain a top 4 finish and give Palmer, Bobb, McAtee some decent minutes. Let's give some of our lads the same opportunity Philips got last year and Grealish the previous year.

I also reserve the right to change my mind after the Community Shield and demand we sign some big names but right now I'm pretty chill and looking forward to the season starting

We shouldn’t be just aiming for a top 4 finish though, that’s for the rags. We have to be aiming to win the title again, and ideally at least one cup.

We will be aiming to win the league. We were the best team in Europe by a country mile last year and will be again this time around even if we don’t make any more signings after Gvardiol.

My biggest worry is we start next season with the complacency we showed at the beginning of last. This is always the big test of successful teams especially in a competitive league
The difference this season is having no post/pre-season UEFA/FIFA competitions, with players returning late & injured.

OK, we've only had a month off & the players will have a relaxed week's training before the CS, but it's more than we've had in any recent season I can remember bar 2020, & that was because of the pandemic.

A lot will also depend on being certain what'll happen with Cancelo, Laporte, Walker & Bernardo. We'll also find out soon enough Pep's plans for Palmer, McAtee & Bobb.

I'm pretty sure we'll have an idea of replacement targets if any of those depart, so we won't really know what we've got to play with for the rest of the season until September 1st.

Not to mention most of our players wouldn't have een able to help having the upcoming world cup in the back of their minds , first half of last season.

Is it Pedri or Gavi that's the brilliant one?

Both were hyped up majorly but it was pretty evident one of them was a case of trying to find some silver lining in the financial shitstorm. Just can never remember which one!
Pedri is the ‘pausa’ of the two. Very mature with how he plays in comparison to his age.

Gavi is similar to Phil when he was coming through. Always looking to burst forward and likes the quick link up play that’ll get him in the opponents area.
