It was uncovered during the sales process and they reported it to UEFA. That’s due diligence. We also don’t know what the specific breaches are. But yeah let the PL do their investigation. Pretty sure Chelsea are actually cooperating since it was self-reported to begin with, so I hope we get a swift conclusion.

Yep they have admitted it all so Abramovitch was cheating ever since the premier ffp and while pointing fingers at us with the rest of them!

Don't know how long Boehley new about it or how soon he admitted it and told the Premier! Think the near billion spend since his has been there really is because he probably think a transfer ban is coming!

In one way it is the previous owners corrupt cheating and nothing to do with Boehley and his backers, it will just depend when he new about it and then thought fcuk it let's spend spend spend and take the consequences..

Thats ffp for you an utter disgrace from the powers that be to bring this in and makes owners find a way to get around it, when in fact the owner had the money to do what the fcuk he wanted..

Ahh right, probably explains the unprecedented spending & age range of said transfers. You’ll probably be ok but We’ll probably get a bigger fine for non cooperation

This thread is about your club.

Now, do you know what an asterisk looks like?
Yeah, it's the short dude in the front.

I’m not sure if fessing up and blaming it on the previous owner will lead to a much lighter punishment. These are potentially very serious offences - the kind of which our own club has flat out denied - yet Chelsea are admitting they’re guilty by the looks of things. @projectriver explains it far better than I can:

But the thing is we don’t know what the actual breaches were. If the PL produces a report based on their investigation that details the specific breaches then we have that discussion but until then we have no idea what the breaches were or how many breaches there were. It was clearly enough for the new ownership to notice it and report it and for UEFA to impose a fine. Let’s see what the PL say. This isn’t something Chelsea are being uncooperative about, in fact the PL are only investigating this because Chelsea highlighted it for them.

I’m not saying the new owners should’ve unearthed every skeleton in Romans cupboard, but given the government where involved you’d expect proper due diligence, if these misdemeanours where found during or just after the sales process, then the new owners haven’t exactly covered themselves in glory spending a billion
saudis just wanted to own them sorry Ted used own money ha

I thought it was customary for the PL to announce the number of charges at this point, so that officials and supporters of all other clubs can hold it over them. I've not seen the announcement yet.

Also, this stuff about these breaches coming to light during Boehly's discovery process is a convenient front to hide behind. Are they saying nobody at the club knew anything about these actions except for Abramovich? Loads of Chelsea staff must have been complicit in this cheating and the subsequent cover up.

I don't think any of the executive staff who might conceivably have been aware of such things are at the club any more.

We’ll see. I’ve certainly never heard of them but through the reporting it was mentioned that they’ve worked with NFL and college football teams before. If what that City fan is saying is true, then yeah something doesn’t add up.

Your last sentence sums up the Premier League to a T.

You had to highlight to the Premier League what you had done yet they are charging you supposedly.
Add together the 115 charges the Premier League threw at us without even checking what they was for ( length of grass...playing at 3pm on a Saturday...etc) and I'm beginning to think both us and you might get away with this.

The more stuff like this surfaces the more I picture the Premier League as some scared little kid who has just been handed a loaded gun but doesn't know how to fire it.

It's an embarrassing situation that the supposed best League in the world find themselves in.

I have no doubt the start of all this has something to do with teams who play in red who have got together and put heat on the coward who is head of the Premier League.

I’d say you can probably take @projectriver / Slbsn (on Twitter) ‘s take on anything football finance related as correct. another one of our fans @Prestwich_Blue should also be taken as pretty much correct - though they had a nuanced disagreement on the minutiae of the UEFA ffp stitch up iirc.

It is because of those 2 and others (who generally get missed off in posts like mine, like @Pablo ZZZ Peroni and many others) that the fans on this forum are far more aware than they probably ever wanted to be about the ins and outs of real (as opposed to media bollox) football finance.

The views of these intelligent, articulate and above all, informed chaps/chapesses have been denigrated as crackpots by a particular group of mainstream media sports ‘journalists’ - despite all the evidence and facts expertly walked through on the forum for us mere mortals.

It is.. if I may be so bold… one of reasons ‘we’ of the forum react quite strongly to spurious and fictional accusations of the ‘ffp cheats’ ilk, and ditto why we cry ‘hypocrites’ to the cartel clubs fans when life seems to come full circle…

I mean it’s the exact same thing that was discussed a week or so ago. It was reported then that the PL would conduct their own investigation but it’s all based on the self-reporting the new ownership did after the takeover.
Absolute fucking bollocks, the due diligence would have flagged this but you spent record amounts. I think a certain Northern Club maybe feeding a bit of info to damage the hateful 8, never back a Tiger into a corner, the fight back is inevitable.
