Infact he’s denied it on his own personal twitter.I’m never happy when a player starts briefing they are not happy, hate the style of play etc. Regardless of Bernardo making it clear he’d like to leave, he’s always given 100% and remained professional and that I respect, but what happens in 6 months if Paqueta is dropped or not playing as much as he likes? Will he start causing waves? Just doesn’t sit easy with me.

The more I think about this transfer, the more on board with it I am. The fee is pretty high, but I’m not paying it so that doesn’t really bother me. Think he’ll thrive at City, and gives us a bit more creativity in midfield. Get a winger in now and it will have been a very good window.

Never have been able to work it out as the skin says black, but the hair says either white or straighteners (I'm leaning towards white because his hair doesn't completely f*ck up once it starts raining).....

Like most Brazilians he is mixed, even someone who seems white like Kaka or black like Gabriel Jesus has some mixed ancestry.Also, and I can ask this 'cos I'm black, is he white latino or black ?

£60m would be a nice fee to land on. Bought for £51/53m but has wanted out now for the best part of a year. Struggled at the start of the season but seemed to settle towards the end. All depends on how much we value him and take everything else into account. Don’t think West Ham can be greedy here with the player not interested in staying. Calm heads and a reasonable fee would be nice. Maybe offer a few players to soften the blow.

I think someone to play in place of Rodri (so he doesnt have to play 55 games a season) without the team's performance going down by 50% is more important than a winger, which is why I'd privilege Caicedo.The more I think about this transfer, the more on board with it I am. Bernardo, Foden & Alvarez can play on the right-side (and well).

Having read Rodri's comments, I think we need to prioritise an understudy for him. Our wide options can be covered by a number of players. I don't think we can rely on Phillips, so getting someone in who can cover for Rodri is vital, particularly if Kovacic does turn out to be injured.The more I think about this transfer, the more on board with it I am. The fee is pretty high, but I’m not paying it so that doesn’t really bother me. Think he’ll thrive at City, and gives us a bit more creativity in midfield. Get a winger in now and it will have been a very good window.

Where Paqueta differs from Mahrez, is he can play centrally too, giving us more versatility.
Like you, I never considered Paqueta until 24 hours ago, but the more detail I see of him & the more I think about it, the more on board I am with the possibility too.

Completely agree. We were extremely fortunate that Rodri was available for as many games as he was last season, we can't reasonably expect him to repeat that this time. The drop off in his absence was huge and assuming Phillips isn't trusted (which is what the evidence suggests), it's surprising that we seemingly aren't even being linked with someone who can come in to cover that position.
