Not directly related, but I was astonished that BBC North West news this lunch time did not have a word to say about Leighs challenge cup win. A rough equivalent would be Burnley winning the FA cup, huge news by any standards but the BBC blanked it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE !!!

We have said it for years, I'm surprised it took a genius like Pep so long for the penny to drop. I think he got so spoilt with the attacking strength with Messi and co at Barcelona he couldn't veer from it. While we were obviously still winning trophies playing this way, we knew if he just tweaked it to be a bit more pragmatic we'd be even more effective. Now we have and are.

Pep seems really happy to be here. His comments about possibly extending longer. I loved his comments on we won everything what now? Vibes is chill and experimental stuff from pre season and Ederson carrying out was discussed at length in The athletic. New formation with Ederson and playing long ball which isn’t like hoof ball. All we have to do is make sure that they are fully out of the equation. Not easy with the extra help but we have proved we are ready and capable of it..

It's a good lesson for us to put games to bed as soon as possible, so they can't bend VAR decisions against us.
