He was pinging 70 yard passes onto the exact spot where players were going to arrive at, and the commentators never even mentioned it.

When you have players like Foden and Grealish who can instantly control that kind of ball it is a real thing of beauty and will be interesting so see how many assists he gets this season.

What is the record number of assists for a keeper?

Fantastic tonight in all respects as he has been recently
His pass long and short was great and we has very secure with his handling

Magnificent, the long range passing is back and better than ever, what a weapon!

Is he the best passer of the ball in the sport? Not talking just goalkeepers here, I’m talking all players!

I think you’ll find the BBC and Sky think it’s Onana such is their current wank fest on him. David James said Onana is the best keeper in the league the other day. Based on what ffs.

Best keeper in the world now - he was never a poor shotstopper but even that aspect of his game has dramatically improved lately. When was the last goal we let in where you thought Ederson could’ve done better?

Barring a huge stroke of luck, replacing him is going to be perhaps the hardest task of Txiki’s career. To say players like him don’t grow on trees would be an understatement.

Agreed - he’s boosted his shot stopping skills and is a real asset.

Just had a meal behind him in the Algarve a couple of hours ago so he’s clearly enjoying the days off!

Unbelievable and Pep is clearly using him even more this season as crazy as it sounds.

Pressing has been gaining importance more and more in football, so being able to suck it in and play through is more important than ever before.

And so far we have seen Pep use Ederson almost as a false CB in build up.

This guarantees a free man, somewhere 100%, and I now realize why Pep no longer will use a 325, this is now a dead idea to Pep.

In our back 4 to Newcastle Pep had Both Walker wide and Akanji go into midfield.

This left 2 at the back with Ederson.

Our build up formation has evolved into a new 3-3-5.

With 5 players in the centre and Edersons passing skill, the overload in the centre is made.

And if all 5 are tightly marked, no problem, one of (Akanji, Rodri or Kovacic) drops to the defensive line to make a 425 to drag one of their players down and open a gap.

If they leave our wide men to stop our centrality then Ederson pings to a wide player.

He cant be stopped.

i don't understand how their goal stands. their striker is clearly stopping ederson from fully diving. I can just stand on the goal line now and stop keepers from fully diving else they risk clattering into me and potentially hurting themselves?

The ball was in the net before Ederson completed his dive to be honest.
