There are very few like Wirtz at the moment. This time next year KDB will be 33, and Bernardo will likely be off and we`ll be again looking for creative midfielders. Rather than let the war chest burn a hole in Khaldoon`s pocket get him signed up now as this time next year his value will have rocketed. I`d even be open to letting him stay at Bayer for the season.

Timing is key here - big upfront offer now might net us Wirtz if we can convince him to leave Germany. Next summer there will be a few clubs at the auction including Bayern. We need to move now whilst we are the only ones with cash. I suspect a big enough offer would temp Leverkusen.
