One cannot be betrayed if one has no people.

why is everyone speaking figuratively? not followed several pages so gonna ask if the Wolf is at the [City] door or has the eagle landed?
It was a Usual Suspects quote… it wasn’t relevant in any way, but I seen Kobayashi and couldn’t help myself. No idea about wolves or eagles mind. Carry on.

Hello everyone
This is my 1st post here and I'm delighted to be able to chat with you as I've been reading you for a long time. I live in Vincennes a city stuck to Paris and have been a supporter for 10 years (when Pellegrini arrived at the club).

I think I understand why Pep and the club are so keen to sign Matheus Nunes, as well as thinking he's one of the best midfielders in the world. Nunes, like Gvardiol, represents the footballer of the future (I'm talking about his potential and attributes) in the sense that he's as strong offensively as he is defensively. He can be as creative as he can be destructive, as well as having an amazing physical strength. Pep the visionary is in the process of transforming the team and adapting it to Haaland's qualities (transitional play) while still knowing how to keep the ball. He's building us a hybrid team and that's why we bought Doku, Gvardiol (who's comfortable in both configurations), Kovacic and Nunes, while putting an option on a player like Eze.

I really think that Nunes has all the qualities to become one of the best midfielders in the world under Pep and accompanied by world-class players. I understand the doubts about his adaptability to our system, but we've already had the same doubts about so many players who turned out to be good pickings (Rodri, Ake, Akanji, Stones and even Dias).

Let's see what happens

My initial thoughts of him when watching him play...

Pros:
Very dynamic.
Very quick.
Very energetic.
Excellent carrier of the ball.
Excellent dribbler.
A good presser off the ball.

Cons:
Needs to take better care of the ball at times (albeit a risky player like KDB).
Seems to want to play at a higher tempo all the time instead of slowing the game down when it is needed.

He's very raw, similar to Doku.

If Pep can refine his talents he could be brilliant.

I just feel at times he plays the game at 100mph and needs to slow down at times. Needs to play with a bit more composure and maturity, particularly if he is going to play alongside another midfielder in a double pivot... Whether that's Rodri or Kova.

I'm hoping Pep can improve on his weaknesses. Either way he's definitely going to be better than Kalvin Phillips so at least our squad will be strengthened.

If I had the choice though... My pick would be Maxence Caqueret.
