The Pro Road Cycling Thread

Iv just started to watch this on ITV4 the aerial views already look spectacular and will only get better when the cyclists approach Manchester

Today starts the Tour of Britain. Altrincham-Deansgate. All kicks off at 11:45 and I’m going to cycle to Hale to have a gander. It’s live on ITV4. A bit pee’d off with the BBC as of yesterday it wasn’t even mentioned, not even on their cycling calendar.
Watched them at Compstall just outside Marple. Good crowds. I was on the telly taking photos. (Bottom right)20230903_143710.jpg

They made the descent down Brabyns Brow which is steep look so easy.
Yes, that’s where we were. Did our own ride to and from there too. It was great - and fast - but next time I wanna see them go up that road instead of down it!
A great day out in glorious weather :-)

Confused with the tour of Britain, there's loads of riders all on the same time as the leader !
Not anymore!
Just caught up with today’s highlights and that was some finale from Wout Van Aert; just left them all in his wake.
It is an odd course though you’re right; just sprint stage after sprint stage, with it all coming down to a stage in Wales this weekend with some climbs.
It definitely involves a change in mindset to watch and enjoy it - bit at least I know I can get away with just watching last 3km of each stage ;-)

I missed the end yesterday I fell asleep and woke up when Van Aert was being interviewed.
I am finding it difficult to enjoy, it's a bit boring.
