PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I'd say we always knew why FFP was introduced, which was to maintain the competitive advantage of the established clubs.

What I guess you meant was that it became clear, from that seemingly small but ultimately significant change, that UEFA had pretty well set a trap for us.
EPL now being played like a violin by the same interests - case against city coming to little or nothing will be presented by some as justification for 'taking their ball home' and forming ESL.

Lots of posts, some of them are bloody massive I might add, so for this layman and others like me, are their any genuine updates?

- On sanctioning clubs: "It has been refreshing, in many ways, for clubs to be held accountable for failing to adhere to regulatory principles". Really? Why refreshing?

Shouldnt clubs be held to account for breaches ?
Of course, but why is it refreshing? Do they have a list of clubs that breached their regulatory obligations before FFP, or even during FFP, that weren't held to account that disappointed them so? Or is it just a(nother) cheap shot that clubs "with financial prowess" can do what they want and their "expert lawyers"can get them out of it by "taking apart the inefficiencies and complexities of the regulations"?

No, there are numerous reasons why it will take a long time, which have been discussed at length in this thread, but the complexity of the regulations is not one of them.
Yep it’s just a load of mud slung at us because we are the best baller’s in the land and nobody can match us. Dead simple really.

Bored of hearing Liverpool fans calling for an ESL. And utd fans.

Those fuckers want to exclude everyone else just so they can win stuff.

I hope they sideline themselves.

Strange because with both clubs having had such wonderful histories of success, you would imagine that they would welcome the opportunity to demonstrate their prowess and talent up against the new kids on the block : )

Easy to win when you have way more money then the competition.
Turns out they‘re both a bit shit really when it’s a level playing field

What makes me laugh is they could become the whipping boys of the super league…..

There can only be 1 winner so they could end up as some sort of Norwich & if there’s no relegation the Yanks won’t give a fuck.

I know it was a bollox story but who were the teams that were purported to be forcing the issue?
Doesn't matter really. I might want to force the issue with the police that they should arrest my neighbour on account of him being a lawbreaking ****.

But at the end of the day, if I don't have any evidence to support my case, then it means fuck all. He'll smugly flick me the Vs, if he doesn't go full vengeance and decide to systemically take revenge on my life.

I suppose rather than becoming what we once were, this situation would see them evolve beyond even that and become Spurs.

It's a crazy situation and the time taken is ridiculous in the extreme.

I have no doubt we have not broken the rules but IF our evidence is "irrefutable" the timeline is just wrong.

Whichever club is accused of breaking FFP, the investigation/punishment/not guilty verdict should be completed quickly and efficiently for the good of everyone and the whole process should be public and transparent.

The more I read about the FFP rules and City being in the Dock with UEFA and now the Premier League the more I think this whole process is a buggers muddle plain and simple. The old established elite clubs who asked for this were no doubt expecting City to be taken down a notch or two and the path would be clear for them to continue their success of the 80s, 90s and noughties. Not so. And instead, the old established elite have watched UEFA piss in their own chips and now the PL are faced with a tribunal process that could last until 2027 before anything meaningful will come of it. Whilst the private process goes on City should continue to succeed in the PL and Europe..

The buggers muddle that is FFP has had the opposite effect on City. We have become stronger, more resilient and financially very stable.

UEFA and the PL have totally under estimated City's leadership team. Their arrogance has been their downfall. UEFA and PL, both incompetent bureaucracies, have been hectored into this buggers muddle by the old established elite.

The tectonic plates have shifted and the old established order is gone as we know it. City are the best club in the world right now. Who would have thought this when we were playing Macclesfield Town home and away in the late 90s.

UEFA and the PL have picked on the wrong club. We are not typical City anymore.

Who presents their evidence first?

Do the premier league have to provide evidence or just say we have reason to believe you have done this, this & this……

I still can’t get my head around the process & what stage we are at & who goes next.
