Nottingham Forest (H) | Sat 23rd Sept | PL | Post Match Thread

There was loads of talk about it in the media, but they never actually appealed it.

We've just got to take it on the chin and move on.

If Arsenal play like they did today, we’ll win anyway.
They were gloating about Rodri yesterday so it was good to see them get a slap in the face this afternoon.

If a player can be booked for simulation then why cant a player be booked for the same when they exaggerate a push from an opposition player , if the ref had gone to the monitor he would have seen the delay and eventual comical collapse to the ground that Gibbs White performed with aplomb.
Not condoning Rodri's actions , the rules state if you raise your hands no matter how slight then you get sent off , but Gibbs- Whites's simulation deserved the same , at least Rodri's action was a moment of misplaced passion and aggression and he lost his head , Gibbs-White's action was simply cheating and cowardice.

No,and that lack of retrospective intervention, along with officials allowing it to continue on the pitch,is very much the reason the game is on its arse where theatrics and cheating are concerned.
Ive been banging the drum for a few seasons now......start clamping down on these cunts with immediate sendings off and 3 match bans, and the game will very quickly become far more honest and enjoyable.

Rodri was a dick yesterday, but MGW was a fucking disgrace.
My ERO has somehow got the VAR transcript from yesterday:

“Hang on Ant the lad’s dived and it’s more of a push than a throttling.”

“Hands have touched his neck though i saw it with my own eyes…. IM SPEAKING TO VAR NOW KYLE… yeah hands on neck is it?”

“Yeah you’re right Ant hands have touched his neck check complete.”

You came away from the game feeling meh? How? It was a great win with 10 men.

Sometimes a 2-0 win with 10 men is better than thrashing another team
Rodri missing for three games and in all honesty, as I mentioned the stupidity of getting involved in handbags with that bunch of clowns.

On another day that could have cost us dearly luckily it didn’t

In all fairness thought the Viking did us proud second half. Got back defended, held the ball up when possible, broke well and unlucky with a fuck you goal.
Loves his 3 goals but the lad grafted yesterday.
Still top prem goal scorer I see :-)
Erling ran his balls off chasing some skewed clearances - heading the ball away at one end and attacking at the other.

We're without Kevin long-term and no Stones so far, plus Gundo and Mahrez have left. Our rivals and their pundit mouthpieces thought we'd tail-off from last season, but here we are - not at our best (it takes us 6/8 weeks every season to get into our precision groove) - top of the league. We will go through the gears. Arsenal look mostly reliant on Saka and to a lesser extent, Odegaard. Lose those two and Arsenal will struggle. Liverpool look like our biggest challengers this season. I'm loving the way things are going for us (sending off apart) - our rivals will take points off each other. I like Cooper - genuine rising star coach and top bloke - Forest were well organised - Gibbs-White apart, but we dug in.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but if anyone thinks Rodri deserved red then they should take a look at the red Casimiro had rescinded against Palace. I'm not saying Rodri didn't deserve punishment but Casimiro's was a far the worse offence and the number of players involved in the melee was ludicrous.
Just 1 difference. Rodri plays for Manchester City, so the chance of this one getting rescinded is zero.
