Newcastle (A) | Wed 27th Sept | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

he could be, i just hate how jack doesnt try and take the defenders on, doku actually uses his pace and skills and u can see the impact he has straight away
i never thought jack is the winger pep needed more like his game shoots him in the middle .

Good first half for Bobb

Pretty much everyone poor in the second other than Ake and Ortega.

Nunes looked decent when he came on.

Doku looks lively but very one footed.

Phillips and Grealish gave us nothing.

No mention of 5k away fans wed eve...imagine it being the other way round and they bought 5k to ours....cameraman would be fixated on the loyal geordies all night....our image is just so shit

Great away support again, You feel for them with the result but Bigger games than tonight will reap the rewards

He won't start at the weekend.
Probably not, especially as he played the full game tonight. I’m just concerned about how Nunes will play. Some players have no problem going back to old stomping grounds, whereas others inexplicably fall to pieces. Hope he’s of the former type.

Gomez, Phillips and Grealish not good enough.
Agree with this. No lack of effort from Gomez but he is technically poor. Not as good as Zinchenko in the same position. Phillips is too slow and not proactive. He doesn't influence matches. Grealish has fantastic skills but has major fitness problems, probably because of his lifestyle. Doku looks better. We can't carry anyone these days.

Sky bigging up a 3rd round toon victory for the ages, in a cup no-one gives a shit about.

Can anybody name the teams that got through the 3rd round of the Spanish/Italian/German/French/Dutch equivalent of our fizzy cup?

Nah, didn't think so.

Yawn.
The commentator was a prick tonight, a typical sky sports anti city wankathon.

Congratulations to NUFC.

Gutted as l was hoping to scrape through, but it was a little bit to much playing NUFC at the wrong time.

Had we'd played Cardiff we'd have probably scraped through and may have won the whole thing.

but sometimes you need luck on the field and luck off it.

we won the treble from a similar position last season, lets crack on.
You cant really say NUFC were great in 2nd half but the game now requires lightening pace and power, Doku was bought to add tge pace..but Jacky lad...playing out wide..can be a real drain..jog, stop, pass 5 yards back..he does shine occasionally but mostly its...the above!

Which County FA is he registered with? Surely can’t be Manchester County FA
He is the golden boy at Manchester FA. Attends loads of their functions etc

I was told by somebody at one I attended that he definitely isn’t a city fan
