Holidays

Election going on at the moment and one candidate proposing to adopt the USD, another to peg the Peso to it.

For reference I went to Argentina in March 2018, and it was 1 GBP : 28 Argentine Peso. It is currently 1 GBP : 424 Argentine Peso. That is absurd.

Ignore that official rate bud, it's the blue dollar rate that matters as it's the one everyone uses.

When I first went in March 22 it was $1 to 190 ARS. 18 months later, it is $1 to 1,000 ARS.

Imagine the cost of living going up by 5 but your wages not increasing. Feel badly for the working class people over there. The election has gone to a run off between the guy you mentioned above, who wants to dollarise the full economy for stability. The other guy and favourite, is the same party that has overseen 70 years of economic failure in the country.

The working class are lied to over there by snake oil salesmen. They are liars and thieves and on the narco payroll. The poor bastards who work on the farms and in the factories don't understand anything as they've never had an education, they believe politicians who say they are fighting for the working class. The carrot on the stick this time has been the promise of a $100 payment to anybody who votes for said politician.

Just back in Hong Kong after doing a tour of South Korea via Doha stopover.
Great country with plenty to see, highlight being the DMZ tour.
Normally like Asian food but wasnt to keen on Korean .
Weather here in HKG is great so will have an extra day here before heading home on Sat night.

Based in Nice, with trips to Monaco, Cannes, Antibes & Eze.

Hoping to return in the summer ourselves! where do you stay?

We went a little bit further to the west and covered the stretch of coast from Le Lavandou round to Saint Tropez. Take a look at the area from La Lavandou to Cavalaire-sur-Mer, an absolute stunning little run of coastline and both towns mentioned there are great places to stay in.

Did the same a couple of years back, based in Nice, Antibes is beautiful and Eze is stunning, loved them, did the beach at Saint Jean Cap Ferrat which is just beautiful, need to go back to the south of France, effortlessly cool.

Going to Singapore and Thailand (Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Bangkok) in 3 weeks time. Not been to Asia (aside from venturing over the Bosphorus in Istanbul).

Got a lot planned but happy to take on board any recommendations.

The hike up the side of that hill in Eze was worth the views from the top. First time visiting France too. Pleasantly surprised.

Spent all of February in Vence a few years ago.
Had a great time visiting the hill towns around like Tourette’s-Sur-Loupe as well as all the places between Nice and Menton.
The moyen corniche is a great drive from Nice to Monaco.

Just been for a couple of nights in Ambleside with my daughter to break the half term up a bit. Stayed in a great hotel in the centre with Pool etc. (Salutation). Fairly busy, but not overly so like it can be in the Summer. Lots of rain!

The pullman grande Asoke has a buffet on Sunday lunch that is amazing. If your not with family then it's soi cowboy for lady's of the crome pole . Both In Bangkok

Going with my girlfriend (possibly fiancé by the time we get to Bangkok).

Maybe they'll be showing the City v Spurs game!
The so called official city bar in Bangkok has been crap every time I've been to watch a city match so I would recommend The red Lion / The sports corner/ shenanigans or the Kiwi . Google them and see if any of them are near your hotel . Bangkok is massive and a ball ache for ground level transport.
