It was. He had a great game.Just had a little look at the highlights again. The crossfield pass from Alvarez to Grealish in the build up to the 2nd goal is absolutely stunning.
Have been watching a kid on youtube doing tactical analysis (Yes OC with time on my hands). He seems to think Pep's latest genius dust is "False Wingers". I hadn't really noticed on Sunday was too engrossed in hatred for the rags. He said it was Grealish and Bernardo swapping that wreaked the havoc, along with Gvardiol making driving runs? He said "the rest of the premier league will be trying to copy this as of now". Peppy Boy ripped the rags a new one with false 9s, then two seasons ago rinsed them with inverted full backs. We have a genius in our ranks :-)
I thought Alvarez had his best game in a City shirt but Bernardo produced one of the best performances I have ever seen from any City player. It was. He had a great game.
That's a great post. Pep also gave Grealish a much more free role in the Young Boys match with him moving across to the right frequently. Perhaps it was a rehearsal for Sunday. Grealish and Bernardo dragged United's defenders left and right in the second half leaving a gaping whole down the centre of United's pitiful defence.Have been watching a kid on youtube doing tactical analysis (Yes OC with time on my hands). Yep. What a fucking bore. By the time she asked you what you wanted for tea, you 'd be fast-a-fucking sleepAlice.
I think Sheffield United were worse when we played them back in August. The scoreline doesn't reflect that but I thought they were very poor.Watched the game again without the hindrance of Derby day nerves. Anyone thinking we weren't all that in the first half should watch it again. utd had a half chance after 2 mins before City got into their stride. After that they had a couple of break aways after the odd misplaced pass. City put together some sublime moves that utd could only dream about doing.
Bernardo doubling up with Jack on the left is something City did in the home Derby last year. It worked superbly because Captain Fernandez doesn't cover his full back no matter how many times he get rinsed. Felt like Jack wasn't marked the whole game.
Second half they were an absolute shitshow. The move for the 2nd goal is a joy. Watching Maguire is funny as fck. Like a school kid chasing the ball on the playground.
City play teams every week who sit in with 5-4-1 system hoping for a break away. They are well organised, well coached teams. utd haven't got a fckin clue how to play a team that is better than them (or one that's worse). They are so badly coached it's untrue.
Taking nothing away from City, as its probably the best we've played this season, but we're utd simply the worst team we've faced?
What is the two fingers up thing? Sorry, if I'm the dumb American, but I've never seen that before.View attachment 97071
Oooooooh bitter.
Some pre match giddiness from Red Cafe, although there are a few realists
Man City game. A potential turning point…
I know there Will be a match thread and much discussed on it but the overly unrealistic optimistic part of me can’t help but feel a sliver of hope for this game. Based on from this season, Id say there’s a 95% plus chance of United not winning this game. There’s a slightly lessor percentage...www.redcafe.net

Means fuck off. What is the two fingers up thing? Sorry, if I'm the dumb American, but I've never seen that before.

It is an f off signal here. It dates back to when we were in battles with the french . When the french caught an English archer they would cut off his two fingers to prevent him pulling the bow string. What is the two fingers up thing? You're welcome, my Yankee cousin! What is the two fingers up thing? Sorry, if I'm the dumb American, but I've never seen that before.
Kyle Walker and Phil Foden weren't too shabby on the right either. That's a great post.
