The Conservative Party

Think the Macmillan government is generally considered to have been a good one for the majority of people.
There was like a continuity back then, they knew we needed more housing so both parties carried on building council houses, they both knew that public services needed funding for the greater good of society this lasted until 1979 along came Thatcher whore tore up the rule book, this country has never really recovered I often tell the story of the local parks who used to have teams of gardeners and park keepers, governments knew that open safe green spaces were good for the health of society, it's a small thing I know but multiply that across the country, things recovered slightly under the last Labour government but nearly every public services is now on it's knees. I you know what really pissed me off the tax cuts that we have received don't really add up to very much for the average earner I would happily pay more tax to have properly function pubic services

I expect the tories might fall apart over this. The loonies will want to double down. The moderates know they won't have the numbers in the HoC and the public won't back them to leave the ECHR. They have reached the end of the political dead end they marched down.

Fascinating to see hiw this plays out.

Inflation has been ‘halved’.

Unfortunately, according to a Survation study only 23% of the public understand that this means pricing are still continuing to increase.
Our well educated population need someone on BBC News with an air tank and a big balloon to demonstrate it. The fact that only 23% of people understand inflation, explains a lot about how idiots get voted in to government.

The detail of the ECHR needs to be made public and it hammered home as to what it gives to the British people

If you can find it, listen to Rory Stewart on The Rest is Politics and his plans for public parks. He was genuinely excited to have been tasked (by Truss who was Environment Minister IIRC) to come up with a comprehensive plan. Told her he’d be spending the proceeding weeks meeting all relevant interested parties and would have a long term plan to her at the end of it. He spoke of making public parks a thing of wonder, to the benefit of everyone. Two days later Trusd published some 7 point bollocks in The Telegraph and, according to Stewart, she never mentioned parks again. Said it was all for show.

I’ll never ever understand how so many people fell for the Thatcher con:
“Look at what we’re letting you buy”
(Even though you already own it).

This is how fucking thick 30p Lee is. Does he not understand that under the same sort of laws he wants to ignore any destination country and simply just deny any aircraft landing rights - exceptionalism at its most extreme

The media holding TV court on the judgement of the Supreme Court of the land, Rwanda has been a totally failed policy instead of dealing with claims for asylum in a proper manner.
Any chance we can start processing claims ?

If you want to be electable to the British public you have to take the middle ground. Labour’s jump left resulted in them losing election after election since 2010. Starmer realises this and wants to move away from what was set out under Corbyn and Ed Milliband.

The Tories were infiltrated by UKIP in 2019 which resulted in some talentless chancers managing to get ministerial positions way above their ability. Which resulted in the Truss premiership which made us a whole lot poorer in the space of 40 days. A massive victory for Johnson last election has been obliterated by fuck up after fuck up which will result in probably the biggest electoral swing in British politics in history. The Tory party if they want power back in the 2030s need to move away from this death stall of populist politics.
^^THIS^^

To me our current democratic process is dead in the water and has been for some time now. Personally I cannot find enough about any party that encourages me to vote for them. There is too much about each and every one of them that I wholeheartedly dislike. I am not certain what the answer is or could be. The best solution I can think of a kind of proportional representation... but even that probably won't work.

Social media is very much a part of this issue but alas, it is sadly, it is also a part of society. There are too many echo chambers that give people the illusion that they can be influencers which simply due to the massive diversity of views they cannot. As I posted before, whilst acknowledging how fortunate we that live in the UK are to live here, it is rapidly becoming a very ugly and rotten place to live.... and it is quite literally getting worse by the day every day.
