Excellent post it’s hard to explain how as a country we acknowledged that poverty was not a lifestyle choice, along came Margaret Thatcher who ripped the heart out of this country in favour of trickle down economics which hasn’t trickled down we now have a huge underclass where no one dare goesThere was like a continuity back then, they knew we needed more housing so both parties carried on building council houses, they both knew that public services needed funding for the greater good of society this lasted until 1979 along came Thatcher whore tore up the rule book, this country has never really recovered I often tell the story of the local parks who used to have teams of gardeners and park keepers, governments knew that open safe green spaces were good for the health of society, it's a small thing I know but multiply that across the country, things recovered slightly under the last Labour government but nearly every public services is now on it's knees. I you know what really pissed me off the tax cuts that we have received don't really add up to very much for the average earner I would happily pay more tax to have properly function pubic services
Social services don’t have enough money to protect families in the way they once tried to do now education NHS council houses there’s nothing left.
