The Conservative Party

There was like a continuity back then, they knew we needed more housing so both parties carried on building council houses, they both knew that public services needed funding for the greater good of society this lasted until 1979 along came Thatcher whore tore up the rule book, this country has never really recovered I often tell the story of the local parks who used to have teams of gardeners and park keepers, governments knew that open safe green spaces were good for the health of society, it's a small thing I know but multiply that across the country, things recovered slightly under the last Labour government but nearly every public services is now on it's knees. I you know what really pissed me off the tax cuts that we have received don't really add up to very much for the average earner I would happily pay more tax to have properly function pubic services
Excellent post it’s hard to explain how as a country we acknowledged that poverty was not a lifestyle choice, along came Margaret Thatcher who ripped the heart out of this country in favour of trickle down economics which hasn’t trickled down we now have a huge underclass where no one dare goes
Social services don’t have enough money to protect families in the way they once tried to do now education NHS council houses there’s nothing left.

Ignore law and remove asylum seekers on the same day - Tory deputy chairman

Let that sink in!

The Deputy Chairman of the governing party no longer wants to be bound by the laws of the country - seriously???

Remove them to where? How? If its boats France under the laws he wants to ignore can deny vessels mooring at their ports. Air? Same applies - you don't just rock up at Nice airport and drop the landing gear. We left the Open Skies agreement 1/1/21 and are very vulnerable. If we duck out of the ECHR then there is nothing to stop the EU preventing ALL travel from the UK until we come to our senses. A fortnight would be enough - crippling but enough.

I can understand Sunak wanting to keep Braverman on side for as long as he could. She is the chosen one of the right of the party. What benefit is there to backing Lee Anderson and keeping him as deputy chairman? He's an idiot and he has no chance of keeping his seat.

They are no longer a Party - we have no government now. Its just a bunch of argumentative kids jostling their way around a town centre trying to make a bit of trouble with a few older kids just trying to get to the end with some dignity still intact. If you could take a totally anonymous poll of sitting Tory MP's now with the only question being "do we drag on until the unavoidable GE of go to the country now" I would not be surprised if a majority secretly want their misery over

It speaks volumes about the mentality of these cunts that they are talking about resiling from the ECHR on the date that the highest court in the UK delivered a judgment that expressly states that its decision was not dependant on our being subject to the ECHR. Lord Reed actually fucking said that when reading the judgment out.

So a court, the authority of which was putatively bolstered by our increased sovereignty by leaving the EU, has delivering a clear judgment materially based on factors extraneous to our membership of the ECHR, and these cunts say the solution is withdrawing from the ECHR.

If we did, and I’d say the prospects are virtually nil, then the response you describe would be entIrely proportionate.

Turning our backs on Europe has been an absolute fucking disaster for this country, economically and security-wise, and a move such as this would make that situation significantly worse.

I hesitate to suggest that their generous salaries would provide an alternative result.... pigs and troughs springs to mind.

Going down the same road as the Republicans, it's like they want to be a fringe extremist party.
The way these cunts talk about what the British people want you’d think they represented discernibly more than a fringe (maybe accounting for a third of those who voted for the Tories) of a party that got a little over 40% of the vote at the last GE. They represent no more than 20% of the electorate.

These cunts live in an absolute echo chamber. It’s the same as people at the other end of the political spectrum who honestly thought that Corbyn could ever win a GE. They are simply incapable of objective thought.

If you want to be electable to the British public you have to take the middle ground. Labour’s jump left resulted in them losing election after election since 2010. Starmer realises this and wants to move away from what was set out under Corbyn and Ed Milliband.

The Tories were infiltrated by UKIP in 2019 which resulted in some talentless chancers managing to get ministerial positions way above their ability. Which resulted in the Truss premiership which made us a whole lot poorer in the space of 40 days. A massive victory for Johnson last election has been obliterated by fuck up after fuck up which will result in probably the biggest electoral swing in British politics in history. The Tory party if they want power back in the 2030s need to move away from this death stall of populist politics.
I've never found a reason to vote Tory and probably never will. However, the country needs an electable centre right and centre left party for the good of our democracy and for the country to thrive.

Can't understand why a British citizen would want us to leave an organisation that defends their human rights
