That need sending to the MEN and publishingDear Mr Burnham,
I accept you are a season ticket holder at Everton and are upset about the way your club has been treated. However, let me remind you, in case you have forgotten, what geographical area you are in charge of. Manchester City F.C. is in Manchester, the name is a big clue. The owners have put millions into your City and changed a chemical waste land into a vibrant area and yet they are, to use local terminology, getting the shit kicked out of them by the Premier League. Is it at all possible that for once you could represent people and businesses in Manchester. Just once isn't a lot to ask and then you can go back to moaning about how badly your own club is being fucked over.
Yours Blue Mist.
P.S. Why didn't you run for the Mayor of Liverpool job because you do fuck all for us.
Simple and plain explanation about ffp here and an interesting take on the Everton situation.

I cannot remember the players names but recall seeing a piece about some of their recent signings scoring goals last season which won games to keep them up. Guess it's hard to prove as such but the clubs that may make a financial claim will point to this as evidence of advantage. How they can prove Everton benefitted and did better with the players they signed compared to them not buying is pure speculation.
By that logic the Rags should have completed the Treble.
Money obsessed the PL and make it up as they go along.

Isn’t there an argument that by him speaking out and trying to undermine the legitimacy of the PL and its commissions that can only help us in the long run?I think Burnham needs a formal warning. It’s one thing being able to keep your private life separate from your working life, but it’s not appropriate when you are in a high profile job in charge of one city and speaking out about a football club if another city, and not just that but making it public. I wouldn’t expect sunak to make a public statement about his club (probably Aston polo and tax dodgers club) and I don’t expect the mayor of Manchester to do it
Thanks, what really pissed me off and the reason I ranted was I read his interview. He says something like 'I've spent all week speaking to different people about this'.That need sending to the MEN and publishing
Great post
Short termism comes to mind. They were only looking to stop rich clubs investing and buying all the best players, which they would never be able to afford to do in their eyes. Had they looked and thought about what could happen them long term if they got took over by a rich owner, their view now would be the same as ours. Serves them right. You reap what you sew.I still dont understand why the 'lower' clubs in the pl voted for FFP. They were voting to stop themselves from ever being top dog. It's bizarre that they voted that way. They signed themselves to just being mid table with no ambition to improve.
Totally agree. I think he is abusing his position as mayor of Manchester to air his grievance publically.I think Burnham needs a formal warning. I actually think he’s done us a favour here. Can’t accuse PL of abuse of process in our case until the process is complete.Dear Mr Burnham,

He’s highlighted another major problem with the whole FFP thing, and gives us another argument we can use if we’re found guilty and punished, and potentially gives us grounds for an appeal if he succeeds. If I remember rightly we can appeal to the courts if we can show that there is a fault with the process itself.
and all the money he's fucking wastedThanks, what really pissed me off and the reason I ranted was I read his interview. He says something like 'I've spent all week speaking to different people about this'.
The shithouse rat wants to spend all week talking to people about housing in Greater Manchester, homeless people, food banks, how to bring jobs to Manchester, not his football club that is in a totally different area to where he represents.
Why not ? It hasn't stopped anyone else saying we are guilty so why can't he come out and tell everyone how good the club is, the regeneration, the money hotels and bars make from Champs League, anything to show we could actually be the good guys. He is after all, an elected person, elected to run Greater Manchester.Isn’t there an argument that by him speaking out and trying to undermine the legitimacy of the PL and its commissions that can only help us in the long run?
He can’t come out and say the same things about City yet as no decision has been reached.
Nobody can say much whilst the process is ongoing. Well, nothing that has any substance as there is no information to base it on.Why not ?
