Cashless society

Did you have a basket on the front or one of those springy traps at the back? :)
No, my younger sister used to use my Dads bike and I used mine. I had my Mum’s shopping bag on the handle bars. Thinking back, it wasn’t a bad price then to get a chippy tea. Mind you, when we were young we used to think fish only came in halves:)

Me, 40 years ago, Colin’s chippy on Cornishway. The best around, it was;)
a lot of water under the bridge but is this the same chippy im thinking,in the row of shops,i found myelf in there some 59 years ago aged 3 years old having ecaped the house from Bleasdale Road, remember it like yesterday

Bless you. I can remember the chippy when it had a table to sit in behind the door. It was called Davisons. When I was growing up Colin ran and owned the chippy but if I rightly recall, it was his father’s before his. On a Friday, there used to be a big queue at opening time, always. Some folk would bring their plates ready for the fish and chips to go straight on the plates.

You'll be surprised these days.

if a shop can't trust the voracity of self service tills why do they have them? Oh and I am sure its a coincidence out of all the people you can see around them the black couple are the ones being checked.

That woman was a right twat, the store detective shot through after he was confronted but the grabby lass couldn't contain herself.

My first wife lived on Bleasdale Road back in the day.

Well I wonder how Sainsbury’s are feeling today about a cashless society? :-)

However, even if the assistants could take money from customers they probably wouldn’t manage to add the cost of the purchases without the calculator on the tills.

Wonder how much it will cost them. Does anyone else think there’s something fishy about these computers going down in random fashion?

Eck, you don't mind me calling you Eck do you ?

What's happened? Tell you what, I'll go and search the news and then come back on....... :-)

Edit: Annnnnnd back with you. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
I remember some replies on here that said it was only nut jobs, GB News watchers and Farage lovers that were worried.

went to mine this morning, its only contactless that is down, which screwed me completely as I was paying by phone, had to go home and get a physical card for the first time in a good while.

Apparently people in the store when it crashed were allowed to take their goods and return later to pay for them.....not sure how thats going to pan out
