FFP is going to nail them to the wall.

Chelsea are basically finished as an elite-level club, and could easily be the next Everton.

You'd imagine the private equity owners won't be too keen on continuing to fund losses, year on year, either.

They'll get a points deduction next season with the losses they've had! And to think Poch is asking for a couple of players in January!

Poch is an over rated manager, I really don't understand the hype around him. He made a fundamental error in dropping an in form striker for an injured Kane in thr CL final too. Did a good job with Southampton, bottled the title with Spurs.

It's true

Also I know Chelsea's recruitment has basically been let's just throw enough shit at the wall and see what sticks, but even so, I think there's enough decent players in that squad that a decent manager would be able to get a tune out of them, at least to the point of being somewhere up in the top half.

But maybe the players can share the blame too. They all seem to remember how to play when they play us, Liverpool etc. So they clearly are a capable team when they want to be.

I think that if Chelsea are patient, and let their manager and players have 2-3 years to develop and work together, they may be unstoppable. But this isn't how things work. So they should bring back Lukaku. And sign Oscar Bobb for £120 million…..

Not sure they will get 2-3 years. They aren't getting income from Europe giving them FFP problems, they have admitted fixing the books and are looking at a points deduction and all the creative accounting around contracts aren't getting them out of trouble.

I would say they are fucked.

Would hate to prejudge, but the loss of CL money for multiple seasons while spending big, even though they’ve shipped quite a few players, seems like it’ll make it almost impossible to meet FFP requirements.

In addition, seems like Abramovich has left the club with a shit sandwich, too.

I’d rather be us! ;-)

Yep, based on the off the books payments they made between 2012-2019 they're in big trouble. Makes the Mancini stuff look small time in comparison. The sporting advantage they gained from their deceit is arguably much greater than ours is alleged to be when considering the amounts involved.

Watched a few Chelsea YouTubers after match discussion to get there vibe! Mainly out the billion spent and 25 player bought about 7/8 good enough, they are wavering on sacking the manager and they talking about buying established players in January!

Now what gets me after watching a few of these cheslea YouTube channels is not ONE mentions ffp or if there club are in deep shit with what's been happened under last owner and the well over spend!

It was refreshing because the media narrative around our club last ten years has all us fans thinking about ffp!

Where’s Vialli? Hes gone quiet, plus the Palmer Fan Boys, we did a good deal there but tempered by a shit deal for Kovacic who is sadly very much regressing.

New increased PL broadcast deal coming up to increase their earnings. But will it be enough?

Sadly, Luca is not with us anymore. A great player, huge knowledge of football and a lovely man by all accounts, but you wouldn't have thought it reading some of his comments on here.

Surely it would only be for new signings rather than applied retrospectively?

That said, I don't think they're in a good place financially at the moment and it will surely be exacerbated if they can't secure CL football this season.
They've just had the vote and yes it's for signings made from here on out

They did it retrospectively with us after the FFP rules came in, we’d already committed to large contracts but UEFA and the PL both allowed a loss of £105m over three years which wasn’t enough for us to pass the rules, they knew what they were doing.
