It’s because he became one of the top earners at villa that they could get the work permit. They only received one on appeal if I remember correctly.

Big difference between buying injured players in summer, to buying them in January. We rarely buy anyone in January, so can't see us buying an injured player, no matter how much fans want the next shiny (or not) toy.We bought Gundog injured & Philips just returning from injury, so I think the betting investigation may have a bigger bearing.
Paqueta's pulled a hamstring. It's not like Gollum called in a priest to give him his last rites.Big difference between buying injured players in summer, to buying them in January. Whatever, I'll be very surprised if we go out and buy an injured player in January, also hamstrings can be very fickle once injured. He might be out for 4-8 weeks which takes us at most to the end of February.
Probably, but the reasons we didn't are obvious, and as far as I can see, still exist, so again I can't see us going there.I think our season would be different if we'd got him instead of Nunes.
Maybe or maybe not. A few reports state we're still very much interested in Paqueta, & may revive our interest in January or the summer irrespective of the betting accusations hanging over him.Whatever, I'll be very surprised if we go out and buy an injured player in January, also hamstrings can be very fickle once injured.

Don't forget with an OPTION to buy for £5m spread over 7 years.Juve will take him on loan if City pay all his wages, provide a translator/chef/and driver, and pay for an AI chatbot girlfriend.
Non-negotiable
Can't see Phillips going to Juve, he's literally just became a Dad.Juve will take him on loan if City pay all his wages, provide a translator/chef/and driver, and pay for an AI chatbot girlfriend.

Not if he then gets banned for a year.Paqueta's pulled a hamstring. It's not like Gollum called in a priest to give him his last rites.

We also took a chance on Gundog, knowing he had a dislocated kneecap & could be out for a further 5 months after we bought him.
lol why would they swap a decent DM for a shit oneDo they have a decent DM we could loan swap for? If we don’t want to buy?
We don't know either way, or for how long. To have him before & after a potential ban will at least bolster our squad in the quality department. Not if he then gets banned for a year.
Locatelli, but thats not happening.Do they have a decent DM we could loan swap for? If we don’t want to buy?
A realistic option to play in Rodri's role? Locatelli from Juventus...Yes it's academic, but if he was fit, available & money was no object, of all the CDM's I can think of, Camavinga would be my first pick.
If you could pick any two CDM's, who would you opt for?
Locatelli, but thats not happening.
They wouldn't, especially a ball playing 25 year old international who can also play as an 8. Pep liked him a couple years back. A technically gifted DM in the Rodri mold in that he contributes offensively and can spray the ball around. Also, at 6'1" he's on the bigger side. Juve would want Phillips to relieve him of some of dirty work, not as a like for like. Point being Locatelli would suit us way, way better than Phillips...lol why would they swap a decent DM for a shit one
Isn't that just good management from their POV.Yeah, the skinflints want better players for fuck off while keeping their own? The Italian Barcelona
As opposed to giving away their best players and overpaying for average ones?Yeah, the skinflints want better players for fuck off while keeping their own? The Italian Barcelona
