It’s better than the systematic oppression of women in workplaces that has existed for decades.Hes a twat dont get me wrong but i bet there is a hell of lot that agree with him without putting it so forcefully :(
Nothing against female pundits but there are a fair few that are there to tick boxes which is all wrong ................
His only point that holds any credence is that some pundits are not good enough. The rest is misogynistic tripe.
Spot on pal. Joey’s a wrong un but it doesn’t mean that everything he says is wrong.
And I think a lot of people miss the point about pundits - they aren’t there to offer any great tactical insight, most viewers don’t need that. What they are there for is to have a quick chat about the game as familiar faces and engaging personalities who (club allegiances aside) we enjoyed watching play the game and remember the big games they were involved in.
Anonymous, dull, earnest female pundits and co comms who we’d never heard of until they were foisted upon us and who can’t entertain us with little nuggets of information or regale us with stories about current managers or players because they’ve never encountered them just bring the mood right down.
I think you need to look up the job description for a pundit, then. Women can offer insights into the game today if they’ve played it, as much as Matt Murray, Matt Le Tissier, Roy Keane or Graeme Souness can. What insights are they going to give us in todays game considering they haven’t played it for 20 years plus?
I’d rather have differing view points, voices and experiences discussing the game, than a gentleman’s club laughing at inside jokes and arguing like mates down the pub.
The old Sky Sports News team that got taken apart, were fucking dreadful. All male. All played in the Premier League. All shite at their job as pundits. You can argue about quality of pundits until your face turns blue, but that’s not a gender issue.
