Joey Barton

He will always attract negativity because of his various misdemeanours, but it seems he has developed into a very good manager,so credit where it's due.

Yep , i agree ..... he's doing pretty well as a boss , and definitely seems to get the respect of his players .... maybe they've heard of his reputation as a player and know they can only 'push him' so far!

Just can't see it. He's always been a ticking time bomb. No matter how many interviews he does after his mis-haps, a year or so later he buggers up again by whacking someone. Can't see a premier league team touching him
This. All day long.
He's burnt his bridges as far as 'top jobs' go in football, and I don't think it would matter what he achieves with his current club, or even with future clubs, he's a hair-trigger away from going full psycho on some poor sod. Can you imagine the negative press English football would attract if Barton, a convicted felon, was manager of some mid-table side and he lost the plot against another manager and beat fuck out of him? It would set the professional game in this country so far back we'd never recover.

Cuntona's martial arts kick against Palace years ago would have had a far more detrimental effect on the game if he'd been playing for someone else, but because it was the verminous rags he was 'protected' and the media portrayed him as some kind of tortured genius, a la Van Gogh. If he'd played for any mid-table club he would have been booted out of football forever. Probably working in Burger King or somewhere similar now.
Barton is already despised by the media so he would not have a chance of getting through the synopsis described above, and whoever the club he would have been managing in this make-believe situation would face dire consequences for employing him to begin with.

Nah, it'l never happen.

Just watching Fleetwood vs. Hull, and Barton's lot are 4-1 ahead. They are playing some nice football, but with Ched Evans up front, they can mix it up, too.

While watching, it struck me that Sir Joseph has been there a lot longer than I thought he would be.

I'v just looked it up, and he was appointed in April 2018, which is quite a lengthy tenure at lower leagu level.

I thought he was going to be sacked when he headbutted the Barnsley manager in the tunnel.

That was an excellent result for "thanks". Hull hadn't dropped a point (or even let in a goal) before last night. Fleetwood's Harvey Saunders scored twice, having bagged a hat trick in the EFL trophy against Villa's U21s last tuesday, and he also scored in the defeat at Rochdale last weekend. 6 goals in the space of 6 days. Two years ago, he was working in Costa Coffee!

Next year he'll be driving a hyundai Tucson probably :-)

I just cannot imagine Joey shaking hands with Pep or Klopp after a premier league game.
I can however visualize him head butting either during a match
