Mr Bates vs the Post Office

Why are the Government proposing a new law to clear the sub Post Masters?.
They own the PO, they could set aside one appeal court and tell the PO not to challenge any appeal. One barrister is then appointed to present all the cases (including the few who are guilty) and overturn the conviction overnight.
Yet again they seem to be (deliberately?) making everything overly complicated.
Like most unnecessary inquiries, it makes a lot of money for a lot of people, especially the judiciary.

If she’s seen again in public, I’m sure she will public justice. No doubt the tax payer will have to fund protection for her and her family for life
I don’t wish that on her but I do wish a substantial time in prison. What she has done is the worst type of crime and being posh shouldn’t stop this. As for being a Christian, well if that’s Christian behaviour it explains why I am an atheist. I would suggest there’s a lot of culpable criminal people at the post office and Fujitsu, let’s see what the government and cps do about it

Thanks - hadn't seen an assessment of how many were in Starmer's time. It's pretty desperate smearing.
I think it isn't the fact that there are only 3 cases, it is because as head of the CPS he could have raised concerns, spoke to the government, anything. He, like the rest did nothing.

She should be put in the same position the Postmasters were and let her seek justice for 20 years

Stephen Bradshaw in the dock. Security and Fraud guy at the Post Office.

Scouser.

Yes, people told me something was wrong, but those above didn't. Nothing for me to see so I carried on ignoring the problem.

Not my fault.
Fucking scouser, definitely not his fault

Edit who is the bald guy with the blue tie asking the questions?

I think the reason this has been able to achieve the impact it has is because the facts were already very clearly established.

It had been through the Courts, so the production didn't have to pussyfoot around allegations and facts or worry about prejudicing future court cases and so had a free run at it.

It just needed people to see that the sub-postmasters were simply normal people being badly stitched up and that it was quite easy to understand what had happened.

That is also why it is such an indictment of the Police and Government as both have failed to do anything without the exposure generated by this rather brilliant drama.
Not sure The Police could do a lot. The post office were the ones bringing the prosecutions.
