Simple. It's a vote catcherWhy has it taken a tv programme for the government to act ?
I posted about this on here years ago.Why has it taken a TV programme for the public to know about it?
Private Eye has been banging on about this for years, but there hasn't been a squeak about it in the mainstream media until now.
20 odd years of untold misery for those wrongly affected, and the story has been there all along. I'm kind of pleased its come out of the woodwork, at last, but also pissed off it's been swept under the carpet and ignored as a major injustice for so many years.

This case does appear exceptional though in the sense that the system was actually put into service, rather than abandoned at great expense without ever being used.If its anything like other public service systems ive seen roll out im going to gamble on errors thrown up all over the place which were immediately blamed on user error and assurances given that they would be fixed prior to the main rollout as the contracts had already been signed and then fuck all actually getting done, am i close?
He's literally in the list. Number 7.No mention of the husband of the current education secretary, Michael Keegan, now working in government who was head of Fujitsu during this debacle?
Just another one of many slimy, useless bastards seeking your vote. That said the BIG problem is the Cover up that will suck in Former Post Office Minister - Ed Davy - Now leader of the Lib Dems. I see he's criticising the Post Office today for feeding him a tissue of lies. Sorry but he was told what issues there were by those who wrote to him and he preferred to believe the Post Office. So whoops! He's a fish on the end of the line trying desperately to get away and not wheeled in.

Surely the DPP should have noticed a problem with relying on computer evidence for an excess number of PO prosecutions on previous years?
Oh, and guess who was in charge of the DPP at the time of most of the tranches of criminal prosecutions - one Kier Starmer.

trust me bud if you have ever worked in the civil service you would know that this in no way exceptional, what is exceptional about this is that it has been flagged up, rather than quietly brushed under the rug. This case does appear exceptional though in the sense that the system was actually put into service, rather than abandoned at great expense without ever being used.
