It's about 1.5 miles walking to Picc station, Seb Coe would struggle to do it in 15 minutes Depending on where in the ground you set off from, for example East Stand, , it's 4 mins to get down from EL3, then a 5 min walk to the walking route and then a 40 min walk to Picc.The Metrolink system for east manchester is shit and badly run, Forget the so-new system and more trams for football or concerts at the new COOP because fans will still be pressed in like sardines in a tin wanting to get on the first tram that turns up,
I don't know the ruling on how many tram carriages can be used under one single tram pulling them, or can they stack 2 or 3 double trams one in one out system, Anyway it's about a 15-minute walk to town or Piccadilly station and it's a great walk when we have won or a good way to get it off your cheat if we have lost

Other than going to the game I use the tram every couple of weeks or so, including last Friday going to Southern Cemetery (faulty tram at Deansgate causing havoc). The amount of times I've encountered delays due to one reason or another is absurd. Now this can't just be coincidentally during the occasions I'm using the service. It must be a regular occurrence. The trouble with this country is the infrastructure is rubbish,take Manchester airport for example,an international airport where it takes an hour to get to the city centre by tram,and you can’t even get to Stockport by public transport after 10 pm.they ripped up train lines in the 60’s,tram lines were covered and now we can’t cope with the traffic,unlike most of Europe where they still use old trams accross their network and airport connections are reliable and run to the early hours if not 24/7People in this country just can’t deal with any fluctuation in weather.

Absolutely, Cornbrook is the weakest link and if any major issue arose at that stop would bring havoc to the system. It's just a 2 platform station that every tram to the South of the Network goes throughI know a guy who works in data for the transport sector. His explanation for the failings in Metrolink is that it’s largely down to when it was built in the early 90s as a much smaller network, every tram has to go through Cornbrook. This wasn’t a problem at the time but it means the system isn’t scalable so now it’s a massive bottleneck and causes issues all over the network. It’s a fundamental flaw in Metrolink.
Not sure how true this is but it makes sense to me and the guy who told me this does a lot of contract work for the council and TFGM in data analytics.

Not on the trams we used. Breezed into the stop near the stadium and flew back direct to the centre afterwards.TBF, no matter where you go in the world, which city, or which metro system, underground or overground you use, football fans are always pressed in like sardines. It was like that before and after the CL final in Istanbul, as an example.
