It’s literally happening right now to Everton who are going to be relegated, lose their new investors and quite probably end up in administration based upon the ruling of 6 people (IC + appeals board) with no chance of appeal outside the prescribed PL processes.

It is a story though. If you read the full article Ceferin is at pains to say that he doesn't want to interfere in the PL case. But his opening remark about the PL case was stupid and reminiscent of his absurd comment that "UEFA had a concrete case" against City. That comment undermined UEFA totally and played into the hands of our lawyers. These new comments will not harm Citys battle against the PL. It implies that there is still some collusion between our enemies at UEFA and those within the PL leadership. It may help our lawyers again.

The FFP rule is that you can only spend what you earn via normal revenue. SM could have lent us billions but we couldn't spend it. The whole premise of the UEFA and PL cases was that he'd given us money disguised as revenue.

But the problem with UEFA's argument (and presumably the PL's) is that they accepted Etihad's sponsorship was broadly fair value. CAS certainly agreed with that.

Part of the PL's case will probably be around not declaring Etihad as a related party. That's not going to wash I suspect and even if it did, the central fact is that the Etihad sponsorship was fair value, whether Etihad is or isn't a related party.

It is not a non-story when the Head of UEFA accuses the current UEFA Champions of being cheats. This will be everywhere tomorrow. Ceferin's quote has been exaggerated but he still said it didn't he? You can't blame the Telegraph reporter for doing his job.
