Good luck to Kalvin. Hope he gets his career back on track. Great lad who deserves to play every week.
I’ve no idea and I don’t think anyone outside of the club knows either.Other than being a bit overweight, and that’s what it was, what else has he done?
It's utterly insane for some people to shown that kind hatred against him.
I mean i know he is not good enough player and that is warrant criticism. But showing that kind of hatred like he killed the hater family member or something it's just becoming pathetic at this point.
Not sure what the protocol is when someone is on loan rather than sold?Should Rico Lewis get the number 4 shirt? Deserves it or does 82 mean something to him?
But you did bring up the weight issue. We all knew about that, most of us had got over it, and some of us thought it might have been a gig from Pep at the waistcoat manager regarding his management of our playersI’ve no idea and I don’t think anyone outside of the club knows either.
I’m not criticising him, just pointing out that he has had his fair chance, things haven’t worked out for either party, and I wish him well.
Fuck me that’s half my posts gone lolPeople allow themselves to say things on line that they would never in a million years say to the person's face. It's one of the most pernicious effects of the online social media age we now live in.
When I make a post, I read it back and try to ask myself, “Now, would I have the balls to say that out loud?” Not infrequently, I've written something and deleted it. Firstly, because of that, or alternatively, because I believe that it adds nothing to the conversation.
We’ve all seen of late certain playing staff having come across as a bit of a dick. Brilliant player though. One of the most important signings of this era.But you did bring up the weight issue. We all knew about that, most of us had got over it, and some of us thought it might have been a gig from Pep at the waistcoat manager regarding his management of our players
It might have been but then he could have just picked up his phone and called Southgate. All I’m saying is that he had enough time to make a positive impression on Guardiola, couldn’t, and so I wish him well. But you did bring up the weight issue. We all knew about that, most of us had got over it, and some of us thought it might have been a gig from Pep at the waistcoat manager regarding his management of our players
I don’t think it was just the weight issue, but perhaps more the fact that Phillips didn’t return early from the World Cup to work on his fitness and try to get into the team when there was a real opportunity for him to do so.But you did bring up the weight issue. We all knew about that, most of us had got over it, and some of us thought it might have been a gig from Pep at the waistcoat manager regarding his management of our players
And you know that there are some who are just dying for this to happen. When he does leave permanently he had better not criticise either Pep or the club otherwise there's going to be an awful lot of disappointed people on here.
To be honest I don't care either way. He has contributed nothing on the field in his time here. And you know that there are some who are just dying for this to happen.
typing it and saying it to our face ....two very different things.I do love reading the new fans on Twitter (NOT the old skool overseas Berts, like a couple of great Chicago lads I met in Gullivers pre Christmas).
Seen them refer to those of us who go to games, and supported us before the 21st century, as ‘Maine Road merchants’
You've summed it up well in this post and i too wish him well, but the bottom line is Kalvin has not shown enough hunger and desire in the limited minutes Pep has played him.I’ve been thinking about this. It hasn’t worked out well for us, or him, with Kalvin, but his conduct has been exemplary. Why would it enter someone’s head to go onto a public forum and say he should give all his medals back? There’s no reason for it, it’s just very bitter and twisted and completely unnecessary. What does any individual gain by him giving his medals back? I’m just pleased for him that he’s go then and wish things had gone better for him.
A bit like you in this forumTo be honest I don't care either way. He has contributed nothing on the field in his time here.
That’s at least rational pal unlike the person who says he should return all his medalsI don’t think it was just the weight issue, but perhaps more the fact that Phillips didn’t return early from the World Cup to work on his fitness and try to get into the team when there was a real opportunity for him to do so.
Phillips took the whole period available after the WC as holiday, went to New York and flew back in the day before everyone returned to training. Given that he hadn’t played all season, maybe there was an expectation or hope at the club that he would have skipped the holiday and returned early, got in top shape etc and been ready when we needed him most.
Yes, best he leave criticising Pep to others, more experienced at it.When he does leave permanently he had better not criticise either Pep or the club otherwise there's going to be an awful lot of disappointed people on here.
