It's clear that Liverpool was always a vehicle for the promotion of Klopp.

He's convinced the Scousers that he "gets them" but it's all a con. He's playing them like a facebook romance scammer.

His problem is no-one else is buying. In Germany he became popular by managing "not Bayern" and going head to head with them. It gave him a wider popularity. It might have worked here 20 years ago when the Rags were top dog and ABU was at it's peak, but it doesn't work today. Partly because Anyone but City is really confined to the red shirts, but mostly because it's Liverpool and, for most, that's not a appealing alternative for anyone.

I think he's realised there are easier marks about and he's not getting enough out for what he's putting in.
 
After Maureen this gurning caricature must be the most egotistical prat in world football (and there are many prime contenders).
It doesn't matter what happens he always seems to manage to make it all about himself.
