It's impossible to do it 'organically' now. The closest thing I have seen to doing it organically is Southampton - Bale, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ward-Prowse, etc. What happened? Liverpool amongst others steamed in and said "we're having him, him and him". A bad recruitment cycle later and Southampton were relegated. So I say bollocks to your organic growth. City got to the top and stayed there by doing things in the only way possible. A way that is now largely shut off to any would-be dreamers. A way that sticks two fingers up to the twats who want to run football for their own benefit. A way that makes the envious establishment clubs more green than an Asda organic bag of spinach.
The problem with doing it 'organically' is that the richer, established clubs will always come along and asset strip...
You're example of Southampton is a prime example... look at what happened to all those listed.

ips hattThe best contribution by a City fan Jay on Talksport ever. He even silenced Jordan. Get it on catchup. It was played at around 10.25am. Chapeau Jay.
Agreed, kept his argument cohesive, and importantly, running over Jordan's attempts to knock him off course.
Well done Jay, tip of the hat to you.

Gordon, try a new approach. Don't reply, just report it. I have a great time when sat with a coffee/brew. I simply report shite comments, make them work at the bbc and then have a laugh later when i look to see how many have been removed.

Seems the bbc are trying to stop my little game lol. You can call City anything you like and it's ok with the bbc. Speak the truth and they monitor you lol

I feely admit we are were we are due to the investment, not a problem for me. It's not unusual for new owners to invest.

What I dont understand is why dippers and rags are embarrassed by their old owners investment.
Arsenal too... the media are complicit in airbrushing or excusing their past indiscretions/investments/cheating etc.

It's different in my eyes, City, utd, domestic league games.
We were England's only representatives in Europe at that game/stage but that didn't mean fuck all to him.
He wanted us to lose full stop.
A **** of a man who just couldn't hide his distain for us
England's only representative in Europe.

I can safely say, hand on heart that if United were in Europe, and England's only representative.. I would NEVER, ever want them to win.

Ditto just in from work and 16 removed with a few mins effort. Gordon do try it. Liverpool comment on City hys will be considered off topic

Ever since Arsenal offered Herbert Chapman twice his salary at Huddersfield, the idea of Organic Growth has always been a complete myth.

Old Trafford was the most modern stadium in England from roughly 1950 to the turn of the century when City, Arsenal, and then West Ham and Spurs all moved stadiums.
However, that was nothing to do with organic growth and everything to do with the Luftwaffe flattening the original construction and United having to rebuild from scratch using post war technology as opposed to Maine Road being almost 30 years older.

Ultimately that became a huge advantage, especially when Old Trafford was chosen as a 1966 World Cup Venue, and Government funding used for ground improvements.

Similarly, whilst the Munich Air Disaster didn't impact immediately on United's crowds, it certainly impacted on the fashion of the younger generation as Maine Road's average attendance declined alarmingly from 1958-1963, and even worse following relegation.

Compare this to the last full season before WW2 when despite being a division lower City had still recorded a higher average attendance than United.

I could make a similar observation about the Busby Babes never playing at Anfield because Liverpool were in the Second Division.

How did Liverpool fund their spending spree in the early 60s?
How did United fund their spending spree in the mid 80s, with English clubs banned from Europe, declining attendances and mounting debts?

Sometimes it's just about moments of serendipity, and whilst those clubs found themselves in the right place at the right time, they seem to have a huge problem with City benefiting from something as simple as Manchester hosting the Commonwealth Games.

Every club has travelled in different directions at varying pace so bollocks to what the media think.

Very good post and spot on. But the tribal elerment which exists in the game will always be.

But you're not a paid professional pundit working in England for BT covering a Champions League semi final involving the only English team left in the tournament are you?
Underneath there's no doubting he wanted us to lose but as a professional pundit celebrating Madrids goal was wrong big time

True but the tribe element is pushed to far by the press/media. The press/media are building hatred and they need to be careful no one gets seriously hurt.

Football got lucky that no one was hurt when the dippers attack our team bus. Their actions were backed by the press/media LFC and Merseyside police. We had the young girl fan hurt.

Press/media love building up the hatred and the dippers dont need much encouragement.
