They know that. But they will still squeeze every bit of money out of our core support and our new support, even for a rearranged midweek game they know won’t sell out in a 53,000 capacity Etihad, never mind in a 62,000 capacity Etihad in 2 years time.

I’m honest. Isn’t what I wrote true?

I’m always positive on the North stand, Etihad Campus, and atmosphere threads.

I’ll be honest again. I don’t like the way the club are treating the fans. I’m sorry if you think that’s me being negative.

Unfortunately we don't seem to have a voice anymore and if we do,they only pay lip service to it.

However, the CL is expanding, and according to Stefan/Project Driver, next seasons CL revenues will be increasing by at least 30% if City get to the CL QF’s. How much extra money for the CL semi-final and final? Will the PL prize and TV money be increasing again? City are already in the expanded World club championship as the holders. City are signing new sponsors deals with companies who will pay more money to be associated with the treble winners and world club champions. Record money making pre season tours in America have already been announced. Does the club really need to increase season tickets by X for the 11th season in a row to generate another £1mill+ from season ticket sales. Don’t forget, as more and more season tickets get whittled down by the club on purpose, that £1mill+ will start to dwindle and become less than £1mill, whilst match day revenues will increase via match day ticket sales, corporate and hospitality sales. That’s where the real match day revenues are, not the dwindling amount of season tickets sales.

I'm challenging this perception. I've already posted about how our previous hospitality arrangements impacted our matchday revenue, which is now being reported at a significantly higher level (with our expenses also increasing).

This financial year we'll probably report a similar figure to Liverpool, who have a similar capacity and far fewer season ticket holders than we have. united have a 40% higher capacity but, per head, our matchday revenue is the same as theirs. Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs charge London prices.

We do not lag behind any more.

Don't be surprised if Flexi-Gold becomes the de-facto standard for all season tickets over the next few seasons.

By the factor the the grim reaper, that will happen over time.
It is an IMPROVEMENT on last season as it looks like the new Flexi golds will be based on points.
As I understand it, the silver tickets allocation was random.

We do not lag behind any

So if we drop our season ticket numbers down to Liverpool levels and sell them as matchday tickets, we will generate far more matchday revenue than them over the year.
Hopefully when achieved, they will stop putting up ticket prices but I won't put my hat on it happening.
As a side issue ,how do you think, we could cover lost income, if we were unsuccessful for a season or 2 ?, ie no prize money.

Never is a long time. In fact, modern football as we know it has only been in existence for 167 years if we're using the world's oldest football club as a barometer. Now 167 years might sound like a long time to you and me but as a snapshot in time, it's absolutely minuscule. Fast forward 100/200/300 years and who knows what the footballing landscape will look like. City may well have more fans than United, Liverpool, and Arsenal put together by then. Or we may not and some other club might've come through the ranks to become the world's biggest.

Many of us have made that exact point whilst discussing increased season ticket and match day ticket prices on this thread.

Everything the club is doing is built on Pep’s foundations on the pitch. Once Pep goes those foundations could begin to look very rocky and could collapse. We’ve seen that happen at United, Liverpool, and Arsenal when their successful managers have left.

It will only take one or two bad mangers after Pep leaves and a faltering team to see our current sold out attendances begin to dwindle with little hope of selling out matches where match day tickets cost £70, £80, or £90 increasing again over the next couple of seasons leading up to Pep possibly leaving and the North stand expansion adding a further 8000 seats to be sold.

Either City are very confident our support will hold up and increase regardless of Pep staying or going, or they are taking a massive risk hoping Pep will renew his contract again and City have now got a large enough fan base to absorb those 8000 extra seats when the North stand is operational.

Apparently Liverpool have in the region of 27,000 season ticket holders if that figure across Google is correct? So roughly around 45%(I’m shit at maths) of the new Anfield capacity of 61,000.

Liverpool are completely transparent about season tickets unlike our club. They now have 27k after an additional 1000 were released in the extended Anfield Road end. The waiting list has been closed for over 10 years but you do have a number and you can see that generally you will get closer each year. The wait for one before the latest 1000 were released was estimated to be around 30 years.

I don't know exactly how it works but their season tickets can be kept within the family so hardly any ever become available.

You say that, but that goes against everything they have been saying about increasing match day revenues. The Brentford tickets were reduced in price, probably on the back of the Burnley attendance, but didn't sell out,

im at a loss. The only thing I can see good about this flexi gold is you will have same seat for every game you go to. But you will be be paying full price for each ticket you accept to buy 3 weeks b4. So you’re paying 150 extra just to sit in same place. Am I missing summat

I guess it depends on scale. If it's a couple of hundred sales they're losing out on they might live with that. If it's many thousands every week, they'd be mad not to do something
