Arsenal (H) - Post Game Thread

Whilst we weren’t great Arsenal made it difficult both saka and Jesus played a lot of the game like double fullbacks. I was surprised by Arsenal I felt it was a game they would really put it on us.

We just got to keep plugging away and see where that takes us. Definitely a big summer to come. We really need a better transfer window this time around.
I think if Arsenal hadn’t completely focused on fouling, time wasting and negativity they may have won the game, they are solid at the back and hard to score against but offered fuck all against a team without our regular goalie and 3 of our first choice defenders

Dropped points vs Palace, Chelski and Pool have cost us the title.
And Spurs when we were ahead twice at home. Chelsea is the real killer though; we were ahead three times at the bridge yet dropped two points and never really looked like winning at home.
We won't miss the league by drawing against Liverpool and Arsenal, but we might miss out due to dropping so many points against mid-table and bottom half teams.

Not only (with gd) so we need Liverpool to drop points in 2 games…

We need Arsenal to drop points too.

We look toothless in the games we could have made a difference in.

It’s not happening.

And I’ve supported City all my life. So going on 34 years now.
That’s your opinion, I strongly disagree with it..
the title is nowhere near decided yet, not by a long way ..! It’s all still to play for..!

Oh behave. We never stopped pushing and probing. Not at our best granted but not for the want of trying against the double bus parkers. Some only see the result and not the bigger picture of the whole game. Like I said only ONE team wanted to win.

That is not unfair, granted. But I stand by it, sorry. I have seen us 'want it' much more than today. I appreciate the context, the internationals, the injuries etc. And a point is by no means a disaster. But we still lacked the hunger of last season imo.

I don't think it has anything to do with 'winner's mentality'. You pressed us off the pitch so we couldn't build up any possession. Cities performance suffocated us, like we suffocated yourselves when you came to the Emirates. I don't think our players could of done anything more, they fought their best fight

That's the reality of the game. You can say 'Arsenal shit the bed' but we've taken 4 points off you and Liverpool. We've probably shit the bed against lesser opposition. But against City and Pool we've taken 8 points
Yep you battered us on deflections at your place and at Wembley to be fair

Boring attacks without any teeth! BORING CITY!

Have to say we haven't look like we're clicking on attack in weeks!

KDB looks a shell of a player. We need to seriously think about replacing him.
That’s massively harsh. Arsenal came to kill the game and did it successfully. It was totally on them that it was a bore fest

I can disagree that you aren't good, you are, believe in yourself more my friend. But we can find some commonality in agreeing that I'm a bit or weirdo, I'd agree with you on that 1. Thank you for your time
Are you still here? I don’t want to be you friend. I’ve got friends who I share commonality with. The offer to do one back to your own fan site is still open

Not a bad point considering we’re miles off our best this season.
We certainly missed Eddie today, with that high press he’d have found space in behind.
We looked nervy playing out from the back.
We also need to play to Haaland’s strengths more.
Get crosses into the box and when we do the need to be better quality.
Play through balls for him to run onto.
David Silva would get so many assists with Haaland.
It’s either a treble falloff or because of the large change in important personnel, maybe both, but we ain’t at it this season.
I’m just glad we’re still in the running considering how poor we’ve been defensively this season compared to our usual high standards.
We’ll evolve again, we always do.
So I’m not too frustrated as we’re still there.

If Arsenal fans are happy with that performance then they should rightly not care a jot what opposition fans think.

But in my opinion that was a very ordinary if disciplined performance against a team that is running out of steam. To not try and win the game is a bit pathetic after talking themselves up.

Nothing about Arsenal today suggested they are potential champions. But they could still win it.

Looked like two teams who didn't want to lose, more so for Arsenal.
For all of our possession we didn't really create any amazing chances. They'll be happier by far.
We've left ourselves with a lot to do and require the Gods to favour us.

Because a top level manager would come full of confidence and try and put a huge dent in our title race.
Arteta didnt because hes a shit bag
Arteta isn't a top level manager yet, but he is improving every season. Pretty sure he'll take the race to the wire against Liverpool this season.

I agree. I thought arsenal were small time and their odd fans celebrating a nil nil when the reality is a draw was no good to either team

Swings and roundabouts my fucking arse. The amount of yellow cards you avoided today was scandalous. 6 or 7 players should have been walking a second yellow tightrope. As for 28% possession arsenal your lack of ambition was utterly fucking pathetic. You’ve played well so far in 2024 but celebrating a point like you’ve won a trophy when the dippers have got the clear advantage is small time. You’ve won it all, my fucking arse

I'm not celebrating a point at all, I think we really needed the win. But like I say you were so good you pressed off the pitch.

As for yellows come on mate, this is English football, do you want every 50-50 to end up in a yellow? Your lot could of got a couple of yellows they didn't too.

I think allot of the frustration your angry about is because we defended really well, which we did. And City didn't create a good chance outside of that early corner, which on another day may have gone in
