You'd have to go back a fair bit more than 6 pages, he's got loads of ability but, he the antithesis of a city player, we simply don't have players that give the ball away like he does, we control the game, pass pass pass. Doku beats his man for fun but that's no good if he continually give the ball away. There's a player there but he needs to curb the natural flair and play it simpler for me.

Maybe that's the problem, we don't have a player now that will take a risk and why we have become so predictable.

KDB used to be that man, supported by Mahrez & Sterling but now we seem obsessed with keeping possession at all cost.

There’s a player here, but at a big club you have to get results, can’t be bedding people in.

We need to roll the dice this summer, risk selling some players, like when Jesus and Sterling went. It needs a revamp and we can generate a bit of cash if we are bold.

I think the summer window will determine if Pep extends or not.

He's really not.

Lots of City fans will say this because there's often the Foden v Saka debate

I'd take Foden every day of course and I think he's a more gifted player but Saka is not overrated. He does his job excellently, he provides a lot and scores plenty too.

You'd have to pay a hell of a lot of money to get a winger that scores and assists as much as he does.

Saka is not as good as is made out in the media, clearly a good player, but comparing him to our players is nonsense, because we play a very different style to arsenal.

As for Doku yesterday, slipping 3 times in about 10 seconds sums up his performance, he's young not been here a season, doesn't play that often, but he's got a lot to learn here yet.

Getting football boots instead of ice skates would improve his contribution too.
 
I've always likened him to Adama Traore in the sense he can terrorise any Defender in the world with the ball at his feet but there's rarely much after that.

We always hear the phrase "there is a player in there" and it might be true but they used to always say the same for Traore, stuff like "when he works on his end product".... but that day never came for him.

I hope it does for Doku

I don't get where this unreasonable and utterly stupid hate towards Saka is coming from. How can he be overrated? Look at his numbers for christ sake, if Saka is overrated then Jack should be playing at Leyton Orient.

Regardless of styles, as a winger, a huge part of your job is to score goals and assists goals. When you combine those things, he's doing it more than anyone else in the league from that position and is consistent in doing so.

You have to give credit where its due. He's leaving our wingers in the dust when it comes to goal contributions and is a big part of the reason they've scored the most in the league this season.

If Saka was dutch or German everyone would call him the return of Arjen Robben. Let's just give it a rest. You can support City and still give credit to other players. Same with Garnacho, a bit overrated at the moment but theres a quality player there and under a good manager he can take their career to the next level. It just seems bitter saying Saka isn't a good player but you mention Jack and everyone's like "fuck off", "moderators", "you should be banned" and all that nonsense

We don't play with wingers is why, and we swap the nominally wide players virtually every game, so he's bound to have better numbers than ours.

He did amost nothing yesterday.

Don't think people are, I actually said 3 posts up "he's clearly a good player", I just don't rate him as good as the media hype him, I don't see a problem with that.

Anyway why this conversation is going on in a thread about Doku, who lets face it, is a country mile off Saka right now, I've no idea.

It won't work for him here, you can't teach the things that he's no good at.

We should have been bringing in someone 'like' Luis Diaz, who can dribble with the ball and create and score goals.

He's got incredible close control, and has natural ability with the ball at his feet.

This thing of Doku only being 21 and therefore having time to develop is nonsense, you can't teach natural ability at that age, you've either got it or you don't. His natural abilities are borderline useless at City, as we don't play that way, and if we did, his end product will never be good enough to play in such tight spaces.

Every team can make that excuse. If Liverpool fans said " Salah is better than Haaland but the only reason he doesn't get as much goals is because we play wide and not through the middle like City" I bet a lot of us here would laughs at that and rightfully so.

How the opposition choose to play is not the problem of our team likewise how we play shouldn't concern other teams. Saying Saka is average but only looks good because he plays in a team that plays through the wings just sounds silly and bitter.
