Wasn’t sure about him at the start, was making a lot of unforced errors. Absolutely love him now, he really has come on in leaps and bounds, seems to be getting better every game.

That has to be in Peps mind for next season based on how good he is on the ball.Cannot wait to see him centrally. The guy literally has everything. I love Stones but I think this lad can be something even more extraordinary in the ‘Stones’ role.
He needs training in the summer on 360 awareness, that takes time to get use to, might never happen tbh.
But at the very least we have an LCB who is unmatched in this regard.
I'm laughing...at you...people laughed when Chelsea paid over £60m for Cucurella...if he showed these performances as a CB i would say fine but we overpaid a lot for his age...but as a LB/LW it`s underwhelming...his offensive game is non-existent & more of a decoy (the opposition knows it) & defensively he struggles against a fast RW (similar to Ake)

Absolutely class tonight. Mopped up everything, was strong and powerful in defence and his touch and technique is a joy and you don't often say that about a defender. Got great vision as well.

he was absolutely superb today, nothing else should even come into the discussion.?..played solid against diaby (some shaky moments in the first half) but his offensive game is still non-existent..great first touch in some parts of the game

There's a Rodri level of confidence in this lad. He's going to be a beast when he really gets going. Hell probably end up taking the Stones roll to a different level.

Agree that he had a great performance, but he does have to eradicate the poor square (often blind) pass inside that gets intercepted too often.Absolutely class tonight. Other than that, solid as a rock and love when he’s playing with Kova or Bernie over there, because they give him plenty of pass option angles to help him out and make him look even better.

Similiar to Rodri in terms of that even when he was struggling you had to blind to not see there is a really special player just waiting to come out
