The problem with sacking tent peg is their own expectations, in their minds there will be a line of people wanting to take the job and it just isnt there, its a poison chalice, a career blot, a cv stain and any decent manager wont want it and then scruffy jim will have to sell another mid level manager to them.

Alonso clearly didn't take a call from them there was that little noise about him. Potter and Southgate is currently the level of manager the gossip pages are working with. Good but not great managers would prefer Newcastle, Villa or Spurs for good reason. Chelsea looks like a better career punt and they're a basketcase too.

The ref had technical issues with his kit and had to leave the pitch for quite a few minutes to sort them out - he actually went back into the stand to do this which obviously took some time.
