Their players specifically called out the atmosphere at Etihad last season as being amazing, we don't get those complements often so to come from such big players tells you something. I hope we can bring the same level and push the guys over the line.

Real showed a level of game management at home imo, thought they were quite clever and bringing on Modric really gave them a good balance. But we should be better placed to react to it, even though we did that quite well on the night i think we have another gear at least.
Agree. Luka is class and changed the game for them at a late stage. What an impact sub. I reckon he starts from the off on Wednesday.

Shame he plays for those twunts.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Dias
Gvardiol
Rodri
De Bruyne
Foden
Bernardo Silva
Grealish
Haaland

Pick that and we have a huge chance!

I think that's our strongest team or rather our best team for this opposition and the team I expect to start.

That's assuming Walker is ready.

Going by Pep's words, Walker is an option from the bench. Akanji on the right and Gvardiol on the left (unless Stones is injured).

In fairness he played last season as well, i think Rudiger not playing the return leg was a bit of a weird one and he will 100% play this time considering issues they have back there. Last season we over ran them in the middle, they countered that this time by not having a striker. If we can get Stones involved more in that area, i think we can cause some real damage but its obviously really important we don't allow quick turnovers.

Yeah, definitely, although I can’t remember whether he’s a wanker or not. Sure someone else will let us know our history with him.
He seems quite card happy, not sure if that’s good or bad for us.

We‘ve had him a few times, notably when we got beat 3-1 away at Madrid a couple of years ago.

i was hoping that polish bald ref will be getting this game who did the final last season and also one of Real semis last year. he is so many levels above the english refs.

Orsato is a bitch, theatre ad lets lets of faults to happen.

He also did us in the 2-1 win at the bernabeu right before lockdown.

But yeah most notably the 3-1 loss where he failed to book casemiro & others for a number of offences.

Great!
He'll be looking to even that up this time around...
We are European royalty now (don't you know!).
Well I live in hope anyway!!!

The only change I'd maybe make is KDB for Kova. I'd keep the backline the same, even if Walker is fit.

Ederson
Akanji Dias Stones Gvardiol
Rodri
KDB Foden
Bernardo Haaland Grealish

Los Blancos dont like this referee LOVL.

Daniele Orsato’s controversial calls in Real Madrid games

Last year, the Real Madrid entourage got immensely anguished after learning Daniele Orsato would officiate their away clash against Chelsea in the UCL QF. This is because Orsato gave the Spanish side a déjà vu of their 2020 RO16 clash versus Manchester City. Then Orsato had given a late penalty for Dani Carvajal’s knock on Raheem Sterling. Besides, the Italian referee reduced Madrid to 10 men by red-carding their defensive anchor Sergio Ramos for hauling back Gabriel Jesus. Meanwhile, Vinicius Jr. claimed Gabriel Jesus scored an early goal by committing a foul on Los Blancos defenders.

The Brazilian striker lamented that Orsato did not even bother to check the VAR before taking calls. Besides this, the Meringues midfielder Luka Modric once felt Daniele Orsato had taken a wrong call in the Argentina-Croatia semi-final in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Modric claimed Orsato wrongly denied Croatia of a corner kick. Right after this denial, Argentina scored a goal off a Lionel Messi penalty after a counterattack. Therefore, besides battling Pep Guardiola’s elite squad, the men in white will have to push away their past demons of crossing paths with Daniele Orsato.

CRY ME A FUCKING RIVER.
